Oh, you know Americans. Each of them were abducted by aliens at least twice.

Who cares? Why would she want to go to a prom where they didn't want her anyways. They weren't obligated to invite her either, it was a private event, damn drama queen. >_>

I remember this story from a couple years ago it happened in MISSISSIPPI. Hardly the most forward thinking area of the country. I wouldn't have minded if the girl had brought her date to the prom at my school. I will say this though the girl was acting REALLY in your face about her being a lesbian, The school system was initially gonna let her and her gf to go to the prom togethor but then she had to push things farther by demanding the right to dress up like a guy in a suit for the event. After thats when they cancelled things. So thats when the school cancelled the event and people just through thei rown as they were done with her drawing attention to her. I have no issue with her doing anything she did and because she went to a public school they should have let her do what she wanted. She just pushed too hard in a very conservative/backward area of the country. At my school on the north east coast shed have been able to do as shed wanted.

Basically she went out of her way to draw attention to her self and the school's predjudiced parents went out of their way to make her pay for it. As the saying goes the nail that sticks out is the first to get hammered. She really should have seen the backlash she was inviting, its not fair but not unexpected for the area.

That's sad. It's so horrible that they discriminated her based on her sexuality. So what if there's lesibians, gays, and bisexuals? They're people too. Poor girl.

I don't know why any of you should be surprised, people get fired all the time and another bullshit for being gay.

Oh this is absolutely horrible.

I don't care what your religious stance is on homosexuality. I don't care what your social stance is on homosexuality. Treating someone like this is wrong.

This from someone who's deeply religious himself. This is just mean.

All sorts of messed up。
Just because she happens to prefer the same gender, doesn't mean she should
be treated as such。 Everyone is a human being, sexuality aside。

Well, plenty of people care about this issue obviously. And it was a total douche baggery way of them to go about doing this.

But sadly it was a private event and you're right, there was no obligation for them to invite her.

I don't agree with what they did or why they did it, but if they're using their own personal funds they honestly have the right to be as much of douche bags as they want.
