@khryzalids LOL your profile pic.... ouch. made me want to just sit in the fetal position every time i watch it.
I dont want to comment on this subject simply because its highly controversial both pro and anti gay sides wont compromise and are heald by their ideals. To me its pointless trying to argue because nothing constructive will come out of it to me this is like a huge troll thread. |

rivalend wrote: I love how all the attention is focused on the lesbian couple. WOW, big surprise. Nobody is advocating for the two students with mental disability or the kids that lack any social skills. So that's just routine nowadays huh? It's acceptable that they're being left out? Only gay issues that are considered "hot topics" and controversial are being sympathized with? A pair of lesbians aren't popular in a school, big whoop. Cry me a fucking river. You want people to be treated equally then start off by seeing the whole picture. Seven other people weren't invited to the party held by the social norm, yet everyone cries over the lesbian couple. Sexual preference isn't the only reason for unfair treatment. |

Sexual preference isn't the only reason for unfair treatment. You got that right! Couldn't agree more! What about the 7 other people who were tricked as well? They would've also wanted to go to a normal prom as well. No one ever mentions about them. It's always the sexual related stuff which always comes first. Well, all the 7 or 9 people including the lesbians faced an injustice not just her and her date. |

The trouble is, you think you have time.

I thought that in today's PC society lesbianism was accepted, even glamorized.

This is an old post but The libertarian in me say a situation was a no win for ether group. First the school barred her from the prom than canceled it. Probably canceling was the best outcome. Then again having the prom allowing the lesbian student, and leaving the students to attend or not to their own conscience would be acceptable too. If I was ta student I would just not attend and stay home The parents organized private party, I say good on them. But here is thing got murky
"As part of a preliminary ruling, a judge decided that McMillen was allowed to bring a girl as a date. The judge did not order the school to reinstate the prom because it was understood that McMillen would be invited to a prom being held by parents of her Itawamba classmates. Instead, that prom was canceled and was replaced with the sparsely attended country club event" The question was this ever a fake prom but a valid function but when others found out the judge was going to order the school to reinstate the prom and force attendance the parents cancel the event and created private party. I do not see this as a fake prom, I bet there were two parties those who supported McMillen and try to created an alternative schools sanctioned event (the presence of teachers and principals), and the party who decided not to attend and created a private event. I do not see why this has to be a story expect the growing McCarthyism by the LGBT crowd to go after anybody who degree with them. It is one thing to defend the individual liberty of a LGBT but liberty is not license to infringe on the liberty of others. |

Here's what I think... I think CR should automatically lock threads and/or move them to an archive once they reach a certain age.
Or stop bumping up after 3 to 6 months. I mean is there ANY GOOD REASON for a 3 year old thread to move up the queue? |
