sounds evil, i think music nowadays sound sad... actually if you are referring to evil and all those strange tunes and stuff you are referring years ago when the times when linkin' park and most hot bands were still on the air. nothing is weirder to any red hot chili music and etc. come to think of it, most of the stuff nowadays were almost the same as before... nothing seems to be new to me. if you haven't even heard of gorillaz i think you don't know what evil music sounds like.

music recently got a bit sadder than before actually... we don't get to hear music whose lyrics saying much like "shit" or "die" on it or something similar. i think the poster of the thread should backtrack late 1990s to early 2000s(2000-5) and compare. you would know what i mean...

I don't listen to those kinds of music. I guess it depends on what kind of music you're into. But from my perspective, I'd say no.

More hateful? Mos def. Evil? Not really. People need this kind of music, keeps those homicidal tendencies under control.

U.S. Mainstream music is nothing but sex.

Sex, sexual, sexuality, mating, etc.

Look and listen to Rhihanna's Rude Boy. Listen to it word for word.

Look and listen to Trey's Songz....all of his songs.

Look for "Neighbors Know My Name" by Trey Songz on Youtube or MTV or whatever. Explain what you see.
Would you show that to your parents or child...?

Maybe for mature people, 16 or 18+, the music is whatever... But what if this music is shown to a child??

It's the not the tunes or the musical aspect that they rebelling from , its the lyrical point of view, it has become a lot more open and more thrive taboo ideas and words. Musical aspect like rhythm isn't something that changed, , it is the words and lyrical themes that these musician play now. Sex and Controversy Sell music now. That's what I mean in rebelling.

The sexual songs seem more like cloning and conforming to society than rebelling. Most songs are gravitating towards sexuality, as well as TV, and other media...as well as your own peers and peer pressures. To not engage in sexual activity and look at sexual stuff you may get criticized....you are the odd one out. The hieratict.

Lol, this pisses me off so much and I agree with you. I always joke that it's a giant ploy to increase the population as America is an aging country. Keeps me from getting too mad. :P
