Doors?
Posted 4/8/10
I though this was about The Doors not Doors.

No offense, when I open the door, I can not see her coming behind the door, and she could see the door opening, so she could be more careful to look out for door opening.

So she has x-ray vision and can see you behind the door you about to open it? You should be as careful as her.

Stuff like this usually happens when the design of the classroom has doors swinging outward (towards the hall) as opposed to the typical inward-swinging doors. I believe the only reason why you'd have doors like this would be for fire-safety reasons (to make exit easier, in case of a fire).

Trivial matters aside, she's probably just exhibiting transference, which is like a shifting of a previous experience and relating it with the present. In her case, she might have actually gotten HIT by the door, and every time it happens, she has but to scowl at whoever almost hits her, again. Yes, it may be her fault, but it's not as if she's getting peeved for no reason.

You're right in not confronting her, directly. Sometimes, just keeping quiet and understanding where the person is coming from can help prevent any untoward conflicts. Next time, however, you CAN be a little more careful when you exit through out-swinging doors. Those things CAN be dangerous, so take care not to open it so suddenly.

If the girl was aware that the door swung OUT into the corridor, then she's the idiot for walking directly behind it. A normal person, who is aware of how the door swings, has the tendency to give the door a wide berth in order to avoid getting hit with it. And I'm all for pocket doors (the sliding ones)

Don't you think that it's her fault for lack of awareness? She let her guard down for awhile and blame her carelessness to other people.

I say, she's just projecting her carelessness so that she doesn't look bad.

i agree with sliding door but what if the power went out. just a thought I would prefer automatic sliding door and you could slide it if you could slide it with your hands too.
