michana [ (we have a few more simuls to announce later, so bear with us!).

You know after reading this I felt "hey maybe this season isn't going to be so bad here, I'll go ahead and stick it out." Now its been 11 days since that was posted with still no word. I'm not trying to sound like some petulant whining kid about it but its beginning to get a little ridiculous in my mind. Im sure some will say that I should be appreciative of the service that CR is providing and that these things take time, but its just that....they are providing a service that I pay for and I have paid for since they began this endeavor in Jan of '09. With no feedback from anyone on progress of new licenses it feels like they are simply leaving their customers swinging in the wind. I know if I told any of the customers in my line of work that they would be getting service "soon" and to "just bear with me" and then they were left without any sort of followup for nearly 2 weeks the phones would be ringing off the hook with complaints. It just seems to me that even if they were having troubles obtaining what they thought they had set up for new properties at least a small update is in order. I do support CR and appreciate what they do since I do not watch fansubs; this site, Funimations portal, and DVDs are my only outlets to watch anime. I just felt as a paying customer that I should voice my concern in regards to the direction that this season has gone. I'm just glad that Durarara is here because that's the only reason that I feel I'm still getting my moneys worth, as compared to say 3 seasons ago when there was at least one or 2 shows each night that I came here to watch.

It is ridiculous, but the ridiculousness is based in Japan. Most TV series are financed by a committee stitched together out of the TV network(s), the anime production house, the Japanese distributor, a toy company, a manga publisher, etc. Each member normally gets specific rights that it gets its return from - merchandise, broadcast, DVD's, drama CD's, etc. And of course its the Japanese way that everyone wants to wait until everyone else has said yes before they will say yes.

Remember that one series in Fall2009, Yumeiro Patissiere, took a whole month after it went to air before the streams started on CR. It will just take a while to get to the point where the production committees are thinking, "and of course we want to have our overseas simulcast lined up in time for the premier episode".

Well that is understandable, but the main point that frustrates me is not that the series don't premiere the same week of or a couple weeks after the broadcast dates, but the lack of communication about such things. If things are delayed that's fine; I just feel that we deserve some type of updates or such that things are still moving along. Even if it is just a bit of a simple platitude like "we're getting really close to having another new series guys just a bit longer..." that still serves to give customers a personal touch through communication that goes a long way. It's just always been my experience in doing business that a few minutes (or actually seconds in this case of posting a message) of personal customer service goes a long way towards keeping customers happy. I guess I didn't clarify well enough in that post that it's not the actual delay that I see as a problem but the lack of communication
