We have enough Russians in our country, pick up a phone 2 weeks later you have a wife??? WTF is that, even China the most populated country in the world doesn't do this. We should have learned from the World Wars that Russia is just a power hungry country and now they leave us with another example... that they should be able to punish someone from a country other than Russia (who adopted a child which would make the child no longer Russian) for committing a crime in their own home country? 70% of Russians = Deceptive, destructive, mentally challenged crack babies.

As far as adoption goes, there should be absolutely no need for there to be adoption from one country to another... There are enough American kids sitting in foster homes for Americans to adopt. They need to make overseas adoption guidelines much much tighter if they continue... psychotic evals, personality tests for the parents and children, intense 1 on 1 interaction with the child prior to adoption etc. honestly who wants to adopt a child with a mental problem ESPECIALLY if your shelling out cash you works 6 years to save up, to top it off your under the assumption the child has no behavioral or mental problems then you get them home after signing all these legal contracts only to find out your child will most likely end up in prison and not make it out of 3rd grade without "special ed" because of their birth and early childhood environment. The world truly in a bad state

I totally agree...there are too many children in the US that need help first. If Russia wants to let 4 instances out of the 1600+ adoptions last year sour the whole thing and Russia wants to cut off the oppurtunity for adoptions here from now on, well so be it. The scrutiny of out-of-country adoptions should be much higher and more in depth.

While I can't agree with the parents sending the child back by himself, I can't agree that they should have had to keep the child either. By seven years old, most of your moral compasses are set...it is very hard to change a child's behavioral patterns at this point. Not to mention, if the parent had accompanied the boy back to Russia, she probably would have been arrested over there. She will still be prosecuted in the US, but I am sure our treatment of prisoners is better then the Russian counterparts. It may have been part of her logic for not going with the child.

And now my side joke - BUY AMERICAN! Enough said.
