The way I think is this....the more points the person has....the more experienced the person is with anime....and I usually have to respect their opinions about things....

I don't quite understand how you gain CR points or what they do anyhow... Nor what relevance does it make other than some people do more here than others? everyone starts somewhere u know ._. 100.000 or 10? How does it change u as a person.... o.o

I think someone else said it too, but you tend to trust the opinions of people on here more if you know they are a longstanding and active member of the CR forum community.
It is sort of like if you need to see a doctor so you check around and find one who has a practice for 2 years, but only has two patients. Both patients speak wonders for him though...but then you find out about another doctor who has had a practive for the same amount of time with 20 patients who say he is the best. Who would you pick? Who would you think has a better business and would you trust yourself to?

I think CR points say wonders about a person's social interaction. I agree everyone starts somewhere, but it is where you go once you start that makes the person. :D

PS: Don't look at my points...I just started on here a couple months ago (lol)

I started few months ago as well, but I dont look at the points I look at what people have to say :)

Even as what you are saying is valid It's just a bit silly in my opinion to compare this to doctors.
Sure I get the point, sure I would probably turn to someone who has alot of CR points in a matter of something I needed to know about CR itself but for example your knowledge in anime and manga; just cause u started using CR two months ago doesnt necessarily mean you arent already master at it, now does it? I'm not saying this of myself cause my knowledge in manga/anime is very basic but for example you might have a heck of alot more experience in something before u find a forum to post on about it. You might be very social, smart and full of knowledge yet people go; "Oh damn, he only has 2 CP, I dont think he's any good".

Now alot of the forum topics I read are about opinions or experiences: does it make someone's experience or opinion less valid because they haven't got as many points? Sure, it's probably nice to have alot of points and have people look up to you just as it's nice to be high level on a game and have all the lower level be like "woah, you must be really good!". But in the end the person stays the same, just they might have a little more friends, social experience and knowledge on how things work in a certain place but to judge someone based on the number they have is just silly. Heck, someone might have gone posting silly things with no brains and just purchased the premium account for few years and have many points without any basis of knowledge/social interaction to it.

It's just my opinion and hey anyone's allowed to make their own mind about it.

I agree with you...I usually look at content myself. I was just stating what I have noticed from experience, not just on these forums, but in other things as well (as you mentioned, gaming being one of them). I don't know why, but people in general gravitate towards other people they feel have more experience...not because they have necessarily proven they know what the heck they are talking about, but they have the points to show they talk alot about it. Easy trap to fall into though.
