Don't know if it has been said as I don't have the attention span required to read every post made after page 1 but in my opinion no single game has ever actually "dethroned" a top game. Usually it is just people start drifting away from the game and find others to play and then a new game comes out that just has the ability to draw everyone who drifted away to it. Might be considered dethroning it to some people but meh. As for GW2 I don't know how well it will do. I never really cared for the first one but even I will probably check out the second along with countless other people. However too many games get so much hype that they can never live up to so keeping players will be hard.

if arenanet do what they say they're going to do then they will absolutely obliterate wow.
As for all these people saying guild wars 2 wont but old republic might beat wow. They have no clue because swtor is just another wow clone but with lightsabers.

While waiting for Guild Wars 2. I've been searching for another game to play and I saw Dragona Online. I tried the Philippine. I’ve never seen an MMORPG like this as I played the game I’m amazed with the graphics, character design, huge weapons, wonderful animation attacks it’s just amazing. The coolest part of it is the dragon transformation that if you will reach a certain level in the game you will have this cool transformation of a dragon depending on the class. The Player versus Player of Dragona is on my top list because that is “really” massive, but good thing they also have a global server so I’m looking forward to play their global version of Dragona. I am really like Dragona that’s why I followed their fanpage http://www.facebook.com/DragonaGlobal. I also saw their site http://playdragona.com/. And it is also awesome. HOW ABOUT YOU GUYS HAVE YOU TRIED IT?

Hi! rfernan9 I'm playing Dragona too while waiting for Guildwars 2, I am currently playing this game however in Philippines Server, I also tried the Korean Server, though i cant understand korean i move to Philippines server just for their English Version. What I can say about this game is that its pretty awesome. It has one of a kind duel and battle systems that fits all players, alot of group quest, especially the transformation which is really amazing. There are 4 races in the game and 8 characters to choose from, however its gender lock. Anyway, the gameplay is one of a kind. I also found out that they will be releasing a Global server this Dec 8, 2011 check their site http://bit.ly/dragonateaser and fanpage http://on.fb.me/dragonaglobalfb too keep you updated

Nothing really "replaces" any mmorpg. Wow isn't the most popular mmorpg though. Ragnarok for example has 40mill+ players. Anyway Rift and Allods are more wow like than GW2. But their better than Wow.

Btw Dragona really sucks. You who say the graphics are good, etc. I take it you haven't played many mmos? Try playing Aion, it's so much better looking it's funny.

World of Warcraft is like a raid boss it will take a few different mmos to take it down lol and then all the other mmos will develope and turn into raid bosses as well and then the cycle continues xD but yes i do think guild wars 2 may take down quite a few subs

It is a hard idea to think about since Guild Wars is having a fresh jump with leveling past 20 and quite a few new characters. If they can keep it going, maybe later, with a few add ons and expansions they may rival.

Having played in the gw2 ongoing beta, yes I would put my money on it if I had to.

Currently sick of gw1 but can't get enough of gw2. It's like trying to relate COD: Modern Warfare to Mario Kart, it's really that much different. Can't wait until the game is out.

To be honest, I've seen this same question appear when new MMOs come out and you see a large amount of people attesting to it's future-death yet when the game comes out it doesn't happen.

I'm personally going to play both Guild Wars 2 and WoW, as Guild Wars 2 isn't subscription based, so other than the initial price I won't have to spend anymore a month than I would normally.

I'd be willing to bet they're both good in their own ways, for different things.
