Aventh grabbed Rosseau's wrist and with his left arm pulling Rosseau forward in his right fist slamming it into his stomach and disarming the man and then throwing him to the ground "You shouldn't point guns at your guest Rosseau"
"What? How do you?" Rosseau asked
"Valentine told me, but thats not important, my name is Aventh De'Valen, and I have come here to ask you about the Skeith and the Mark of Darkness" Aventh said
"And what if I dont want to tell you?" Rosseau asked
Aventh grabbed Rosseau's collar and slammed him up against a wall, a blade of mana extending from Aventh's hand "Then ill make you talk"

"Skeith are the darkness in people's hearts. They were first brought into existence during the Egrigori war, in which the god Lucifer used Skeith as a part of his army. However, Skeith manifestation naturally is rare. However, there's rumors that Nero has a way to turn people into Skeith."
"Do you know where he is?" demanded Aventh.
"He and Le Canzoni di Morte, according to Valentine's intel, reside in God's Bastion. It's similar to Sa'eer. Actually, there's rumors spreading across Faith that Nero has the Mark of Darkness. If a person has the Mark of Light, you'll be able to pinpoint God's Bastion's location."
Aventh concentrated. After some effort, he was able to sense where the Mark of Darkness and it was indeed coming from God's Bastion.
"It's over the sea," muttered Aventh.
Aventh teleported to God's Bastion.

Aventh, Rosseau, and the unconscious Mattheau, bearer of the Mark of Darkness, returned to Invidia Mansion via Aventh's portal. Rosseau placed Mattheau on a bed. Aventh grabbed Rosseau by the collar.
"What the hell is going on?!" demanded Aventh. "Why does he have the Mark of Darkness!"
Rosseau looked away. "I guess Valentine didn't have the nerve to tell you himself. I just presumed that you knew."
"Knew what?"
"The Marks are bestowed by the gods, as to show that a certain individual is in high regard. Millenias ago, Azazel wielded the Mark of Light. However, when Egrigori betrayed Heaven, the gods stripped Azazel of the Mark of Light. This had never been done before. By removing the Mark of Light, it left a void of where it had once been. This gave birth to an anti-existence of the Mark of Light, which the gods refer to as the Mark of Darkness."
"But I felt nothing from Valentine."
"The Mark of Darkness feeds on the negative emotions while the Mark of Light feeds on positive emotions." He paused. "When Azazel tried to use both the Stigma of Envy and the Stigma of Sadness, the conflicting Stigmas ripped Azazel's soul into pieces. The same happened to the Mark of Darkness. Of these pieces, a majority of them recombined to form the existences of Valentine, whom was born from good fragments, and Mattheau, whom was born from dark fragments."
"Valentine's good and Mattheau's bad? That's hard to believe."
"It's true. I knew the twins during childhood. It was opposite to what you see now. You see, Valentine believed that his brother Mattheau was evil because of the Mark of Darkness, so he tried to destroy it, but failed. You see, not all of the fragments of the Mark of Darkness reside in Mattheau. The remaining fragments were scattered. Valentine discovered that Stigmas had the ability to sense nearby fragments so he started the Stigma User guild SALIGIA. For years, SALIGIA collected fragments. Valentine would then absorb those fragments. As Valentine gained more fragments, the more Valentine became more, let's say, 'evil', while Mattheau became more 'good'." He sighed. "It's been a year since Valentine's found anymore fragments. According to his calculations, nine fragments remain. Those fragments have most likely grown in strength by now. If they were to come in contact with a person, they could turn that person into a very powerful Skeith. We must find them."
"If I destroy what's in Mattheau, it'll weaken the other fragments," said Aventh.
"It's an anti-existence, something that doesn't exist. You can't destroy what isn't is unless it is what it was. Do you understand?"
"Not really."
"It means that unless you recreate the Mark of Darkness as it was, you will be unable to destroy it."
"If that's the case, how will I retrieve the other fragments."
"Valentine learned that if you envelope the fragment in enough energy, the fragment will crystalize. This result can occur if the fragment comes in contact with a Stigma, and, most likely, if it comes in contact with your Mark of Light, though, if it becomes a Skeith, you may have to defeat it first." Rosseau glanced at the sleeping Mattheau. "So, what will you do with him?"

"I Cant seal the Mark of darkness within him..." Aventh said
"Why not? It could keep it from going active for a bit, you would have the strength to do so" Rosseau said
"No, although its an anti-existence, sealing its powers off would disrupt the balance between our two marks" Aventh said as he sat in a chair
"How do you know this?" Rosseau asked
"I dont... well I do... its... complicated" Aventh said rubbing his forehead
"The Mark of Light im guessing?" Rosseau asked
"No... the Akash records" Aventh said with a frown "Although I say that, its only bits and pieces of information, and they just started coming into my head as soon as I met with the Mark of Darkness"
"The Akash records!?" Rosseau sounded shocked "No, thats impossible, the Akash records is in 8 pieces, the stigma's not to mention you should be in excruciating pain if you are receiving information from the records"
"The records were already formed once in the past few years" Aventh said
"Lucifer... but, from what I herd he was the one that absorbed the records" Rosseau said
"I created a paradox on those very records... im guessing it has something to do with that, it was a time paradox after all, as for your information, I am in excruciating pain" Aventh said as he rubbed his forehead "There is so much information, i cant even process it all, and im guessing around 99% of it isn't even relevant to our current situation"

'Novula!' Crissa called across the entrance hall. He glanced over and waved.

'Hi, Crissa. Are you here with the princesses? I thought you'd have been in a dress if you were a delegate.'

Crissa grinned and wandered over. 'I'm not a delegate; I'm a bodyguard,' she replied. 'However, I don't need to watch them all the time. I just have to keep tabs on them. And I know where they are, and none are in any trouble.'

"I see," said Novula. "Did you happen to see a slender pale man with black hair by chance?"
Crissa was shocked. "How'd you know?"
"Doc Love, according to Queen Imperatrice, has been known to try to scare guests before," said Novula. "From what I've heard from the staff, he once told an Azuriyan minister that there had been a murder in the room the minister had been staying in."
"He did mention some traps."
"Disregard that. He's just playing a prank." He looked nervously down one of the unused corridors. Very quietly, he whispered, "... I think."

"That's because the Akashic Records hold that which is past, present, and future," said a voice behind Aventh.
Aventh turned around to see Dio standing in the room. Rosseau quickly drew his pistol and fired two bullets. The bullets stopped inches from Dio's face and dropped to the floor.
"What are you doing here?" demanded Aventh.
"I'm here to retrieve the person you took from God's Bastion," said Dio.
"You're not getting him," declared Aventh.
Dio laughed. "It's humorous that you'd actually defend that person. Do you have any idea who that is? That's a half of Azazel, the heretic seraphim that introduced metalworking, my metal, into this world." Dio reached out his hand. "Now, please hand him over."
Rosseau used telekinesis to summon two swords over to himself and Aventh. Aventh and Rosseau took a sword each.
"How'd you find us?" demanded Aventh, having Dio at swordpoint.
"Because of the tracker I have in Mattheau," answered Dio cooperatedily.
"This man is a Canzoni. We need to kill him," urged Rosseau.
"There's still information I can get from him," said Aventh.
Rosseau disregarded Aventh's request and attacked Dio. Rosseau's sword bent like paper, the tip now pointing at Rosseau. Rosseau threw the sword away, pushing it even farther using telekinesis. Aventh threw his sword as well.
"Now I get it," said Aventh. "You stopped the bullets not because of a barrier but because you have the ability to manipulate metal."
Aventh drew mana from his body and shaped it into blades.
"Try this on for size," taunted Aventh.
"With pleasure," remarked Dio.
Aventh charged at Dio. Dio tried to stop the blades but realized that the swords were made of pure mana; no metal. Aventh stabbed Dio in the chest.
"Now, tell me what you know about the Mark of Darkness," ordered Aventh.
Dio laughed. "Silly boy, you should learn to never underestimate your elders." The blood around the wound hardened. "By manipulating the iron in my blood, I can still function even if my heart and lungs were to be injured. I've never tried my head but I'd rather not risk it."
Dio made his blood crystalize and spike out. Aventh quickly retreated back over to Rosseau.
As Dio was wiping the blood from his outfit, he said, "I see that the gods gave you much power, though you're not harnessing it to its full potential. Pity really. Now, unlike many of my kind, I'm not arrogant. I flee when I see no chance of victory, especially where there is little reward in the outcome. Without Valentine, I had no need for Mattheau. You may keep Azazel's half but mark my words that once I've captured Valentine, I'll be back for Mattheau."
Dio began walking towards the door when he stopped.
"Aventh, some words of advice: learn to control your powers. If you're not careful, you'll end up hurting those around you. Orphans are easily produced through that a lot. If you ever wish to talk on non-violent terms, come visit me at the orphanage in Umoba. Just tell Father Vejo that I sent you. He knows how to contact me."
Dio began walking towards the door.

Aventh gave a sigh as Dio left "Must everyone tell me that? Though I do not have full control, I can control the power's quite well" Aventh said turning to Rosseau
"You should have used the mark then" Rosseau commented
"Dont worry about it he is gone" Aventh said looking at matt
"But he will return, and if your not here, well my weapons are ineffective against him" Rosseau commented
"That is because you wield weapons through the metal working that Dio controls" Aventh commented
"What are you implying?" Rosseau asked
Aventh gave a sigh "Do you really think that the only metal working is the one dio passed on?" Aventh asked
"It would make sense" Rosseau replied
"Then you are wrong, the metal working he passed on was for this realm and this realm alone, not to mention he passed it on only to humans, the dwarves gods gave them the ability to manipulate metal also, after all they are a earth dwelling race, not to mention the Uzkul are from a different realm, the only interaction they had with the gods was at the beginning of Aphellion, even if Azazel was a heretic that passed metal onto mortal, he definitely didn't pass it to True Chaos" Aventh finished sitting back into a chair
"So what are you saying, that his powers wont affect the Metal that the Uzkul use or the Dwarves use" Rosseau said
"What im saying is that his manipulation of metal is strong, but not foolproof, there are ways to get around it" Aventh said "But I do not knows those ways, the only way I can think of figuring those ways out is to get the information out of Dio, or you can wait for me to process the Akashic records"
"We dont have a few thousand years" Rosseau said with a sigh

A slow smile spread over Crissa's face.

'What do you say we try and find out then?' she asked, glancing at the unused corridor. 'They'll be in the little-trodden paths, won't they? Let's see if we can trigger any.'

Novula glanced nervously back at the corridor. Crissa took his hand.

'Come on. It'll be fun.'

Novula gulped. "Uh... okay..."
Crissa dragged Novula out of the room. They began exploring less used corridors. After an hour, they had cleared the western wing of the castle without springing anything.
"I guess that that," laughed Novula a little nervously. "Come on, let's go back."
Click!
Novula looked down to see that the tile he was stepping on was lower than the rest. Novula and Crissa heard rumbling around them.
"I wonder what it could be," said Crissa calmly.
As if to answer her, the titles from the south end of the corridor began dropping down to a pit.
"Run!" panicked Novula.
Crissa and Novula ran away from the collapsing tiles.

"Actually, Aventh, I have an idea," said Rosseau. "When you encountered Mattheau, the last of the Stigma Users to be absorbed by Lucifer, access to the fake Akashic Records became available to you. If we go by the reverse order of who was absorbed by Lucifer, we may gain more of the Records."
"Who was before Mattheau?" asked Aventh.
"I believe the Stigma of Wrath. If memory serves correctly, the User is in Azuriya."

"Its probably the best bet for me to collect information you and Valentine may not have access too" Aventh said "then I shall be off, and Rosseau... don't think you can run and hide Mathew... I can and will sense him"
Rosseau gave a nod "Very well, I shall keep a watch over him then"
Aventh gave a smile, and with that disappeared.

Adela screamed at the far end of the corridor. She had unknowingly leaned on a marble head and it tilted backwards to reveal a crooked last finger. Veralior looked from behind in curiosity. The plaque read:

"To the finest direction of all time - none."

"What a strange sign," Veralior said, bemused. Adela threw up on Veralior. Veralior looked around frantically for help. she is after all, still a kid.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Veralior laid down on her bed. Adela is being taken off by the poor maids and Veralior was brought back to her room by some mysterious attendant who seem to be calm despite the situation. I guess it's normal to have body parts hidden anywhere Veralior turned over in her bed and closed her eyes.

Goodnight sweet baby...

The girl sat up from the bed. her unfocused eyes turned towards the mirror.

"What a pathetic body," the girl muttered. "but this should be sufficient."

The girl got out of bed and slipped into her travelling clothes. In the darkness, she moved steathily towards the large door. He rhands reached out for the golden knob to freedom and....

"Veralior?" a female voice asked. The girl stopped and looked around.

"Rakhmini! What are you doing out of bed?" the girl asked a little too quickly.

"I should be asking you! By the way, I think I've lost my way to Adela's room. I hope she's alright," Rakhmini replied, suspiciously eyeing Veralior and the door.

That idoit princess, the girl thought vehemently. Shall I put her to sleep?

The girl walked slowly towards Rakhmini, her face in the shadows.

"It's that way dear," and the girl struck Rakhmini on the back of her neck as she turned to look in that direction. Rakhmini keeled forward and fell on the floor. The girl felt a sharp pain in her left elbow. tch...what a lousy body and the girl rubbed her elbow.

huh? a voice rang out in the girl's head.

"Shit. Go back to sleep you stupid girl!" the girl screamed at herself. The voice kept questioning her whereabouts.

"Shit," and the girl slumped forward as well. Veralior picked herself up from the floor.

"How did i end up he- Rakhmini!" Veralior shouted, recognising the passion red nightgown lady. Veralior rushed forward to examine Rakhmini. Rakhmini let out a snore and Veralior sighed in relief.

"Looks like both of us fell asleep in a strange place," Veralior said softly. A throbbing pain came and veralior rubbed her temple. It always happened when she tried to recall what happened before. Veralior stood up and saw a large ornate mirror. She wanted to turn away but something caught her eye. She spun back and saw a horrifying scene - her reflection but with a look of total power and anger. and it's talking to her!

"stupid girl!" the reflection said angrily. "you are a useless person for not knowing your own power and to veen spoil my comeback stage!"

"er? You are?" Veralior managed through frightened whisper.

"idiot! didn't you talk to me before? in that huge picture in the main house!" the reflection shouted back. Veralior looked around wildly for help.

"don't look away!" and Veralior's head snapped back to the mirror. "I am the greatest man in Wiegand's history," the reflection boomed. "how can you of all people forget? not to mention you are my host!"

"Host?" Veralior asked, in bewilderment. Then, she recalled something about her sister speaking quite unhappily about her to her tutor.

The silly sister of mine couldn't even be trained as a proper soul host! How could she take over my position!?

"Soul host?" Veralior asked tentatively.

"Ah you remembered," the reflection replied, clearly satisfied. "don't you remember crying to me in the picture about all the strange floating lights you see and wanted them to stop? well, here i am and now you are evicting me out of your body?"

Veralior was lost in thoughts as she tried her hardest to recall the man in the picture she often talked to. No one in the main house would talk to her due to her status.

"now, will you be a good girl and go back to sleep," the reflection asked in the same sweet voice as her. Shocked, Veralior refused to hear anymore and shut her mind.

"stop! stop! you are pushing me out!" her reflection screamed in agony. Veralior stopped and looked as her reflection slowly reverted to the original gentler looking one. Veralior breathed heavily.

I'm still here...

Veralior looked around wildly. in your head, stupid girl. seems like you haven't fully grasped your ability's power. no problem there. how about we come to a truce?

"get out!" Veralior shouted. Sorry, my lady. You are the last of the soul hosts and despite your despicable body built, i have to stay by you anyway. wasn't that what you wished for?

"i don't remember wishing for that so now, get o-"

Danger is coming and you need me to keep you safe, the male voice said quickly. I won't take over you since you haven't given me full reins but I can help you keep this body safe...

"and your objective is?" Veralior asked suspiciously

ah...you are more mature than you look. no worries there. I won't take over until the war is over...

"what war-" and a crashing sound came from afar. and so it begins

Veralior ran down the hall. From the safety of her hiding spot from the corner, she saw Lovell and a strange woman towering over the unconscious forms of Imperatrice, Adela, and Rakhmini.
Lovell's betrayed us?! panicked Veralior. I knew he shouldn't be trusted!

Three hours earlier...

Bored with nothing to do, Lovell took a walk on Isle Acedia. He explored the street market. One of the vendors walked up to him.
"Mister, Mister, I have something that would be perfect," said the vendor.
"And that is?" asked Lovell, both intrigued and suspicious.
"Well, Mister, Mister, a nice new headphones," said the vendor.
The vendor took out a headphones from a box.
"Come, Mister, Mister, try them on," urged the vendor.
Lovell nervously put on the Faith headphones.

Veralior couldn't help staring at the sparkling headphones. I want one too!

"Stupid Girl!" a voice rang in her head. "now is the best time to run!"

Veralior felt her legs moved swiftly in the shadows and she reached out for the nearest doorknob....
