Broadcast order now? Eeexcellent, people.

I wouldn't have minded you doing it in broadcast order to begin with, but now I am halfway through chronological order when you switched it to broadcast order and I'm a little peeved. But I'll get over it. I'll just use Wikipedia to get the chronological order and finish watching it that way, then next time I'll watch it in the broadcast order.
Also now the previews at the end are all messed up because they point to the next episode chronologically. |

Ah, the dubs are gone. Sadface...

Grr, dubs are gone, and they redid the entire episode order... ugh...
|
|

|
Good call on the episode order! Clearly not everyone is going to be happy about this... maybe a quick link on the page sending people to the chronological order if they prefer to watch it that way?

nexusmaylo wrote: Spoiler Alert! Click to show or hide I can almost say with 100% accuracy they will not get Disappearance of Haruhi movie, because it will be released on DVD and not broadcast, CR wont be able to compete with company who can actually afford the license fee's, because they won't sell just a streaming rights, they are going to sell it as a bundle including DVD licensing which CR can never compete with (funimation) which this exact conversation has been covered before. So no I no they will not get the movie http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/press-release/2010-04-15/bandai-entertainment-acquires-the-disappearance-of-haruhi-suzumiya-e-store-launches Basically confirmed for not getting the rights to put the movie on the site Jaka: Speaking of licensing, um, how come CR never licenses any “big shows”? As in ones made by prominent studios. Like SHAFT/Kyoani/Madhouse(?)/Bones(?). Sam: The main reason is that most international sales departments still have a philosophy that all rights should be sold as bundles. CR isn’t interested (and can’t afford) DVD and blu-ray rights. But for big shows where there’s a good chance Funi or someone else will buy it for DVD, they don’t let CR have just the streaming rights. Jaka: So does the animation studio have a big say in what gets licensed and what doesn’t? Sam: Only if they are part of the production committee. But the sales people aren’t dumb. They know when a show is “big” enough to get bought for DVD and it’s usually done by the good studios. Also, that’s not true about SHAFT. CR had Natsu no Arashi. Jaka: Oh yeah i forgot about that, whoops. Sam: Kyoani is obviously special. Jaka: What about MBS? Sam: MBS doesn’t do international licensing I don’t think. Jaka: So, just wondering, DTB S2 was a huge hit last season. Did CR try to acquire it? Sam: Sure they did, and they were quoted a price that included DVD rights and told, “Well this is what funi will pay us for it. Can you do better?” And the answer is of course, no. Jaka: So this comes all the way back to the bundle-talk. Sam: Oh sure, Crunchyroll could make them a lot more money _from streaming_ than funi could, but splitting up the license is not in the cards. Jaka: I see. Jaka: Okay, what will happen if something results into Funi vs CR? Sam: That happens all the time. Jaka: But judging from what you said that will not happen because funi always have first say? Sam: Usually. Jaka: So has CR ever won against Funi in licensing? Sam: Like, outbid them? Jaka: Yeah, for rights of a title. Sam: I don’t know, actually. But I doubt it. They can’t make nearly as much revenue as Funi can still. Per show, anyway. http://www.ggkthx.org/2010/01/10/jaka-bugs-sam-for-2hrs-and-i-paste-the-chatlog/ dokudokugwo wrote: Spoiler Alert! Click to show or hide Nice to see that you got these, they were a lot of fun to watch. I'll probably also give Season 2 another shot since you got that as well and am looking forward to seeing you hopefully get the movie. I was going to go on some long speech about the post with the quoted chat and how it was taken out of context for Haruhi but whatever. Bandai owns the Haruhi movie for DVD release in the states according to ANN... Bandai has given CR everything haruhi so far... why wouldn't they give them the movie? CR seems to be a really good outlet for Bandai streaming titles since I don't believe they have their own thing setup to stream. Okay just one thing about that post... pretty obvious that if a package deal from an anime company includes having to buy the rights to release the DVD along with streaming that CR wouldn't pick it up as they have no structure to release DVD's. Also fairly obvious that in that situation if they were to decide to bid on it and just not release DVD's and Funimation came in with a bid that Funi's would be higher and they would win. But since Funimation is not in the picture for the Haruhi movie and it's just Bandai who seem to be BFF with CR... then there shouldn't be a problem. As said, we work with Bandai Ent. and Kadokawa Pictures whom own the rights for this movie so we're not locked out from receiving this. Though, it doesn't seem like we get the rights for many Anime movies so odds are we wouldn't get the rights for this movie any time soon. |

I had been watching the dub, in chronological order, so CR has screwed me. Now I'll wait until they put it back up to continue. I had planned to marathon it tonight when I got off work. I think I'll head over to watch something on Funi's site tonight.

the dubbed episodes just disappeared??? Was there a license breach or something like that? Many people can read English but many more can understand spoken English. Put them back!! I'm tired of reading subs. |
