I couldn't live there tbh! Hectic, chaotic, but iconic.

There's so much to do there! I want to move there when I grow up, like after college, for at least a year, just for the experience.

In all honestly, it's like every other major city in the United States: busy, hetic, and a star bucks on every corner.
New York City is like a giant melting pot. You have every thing up there. The buildings are enormous and overshadow the sun itself. There are no parking spaces so don't drive, and the traffic is pretty crazy. I've only been there once. Seen Ground Zero and the Statue of Liberty which was cool, the people there are pretty ballsy, though. Let's just say you have to be tough if you're planning on spending time there.

New York State of Mind is what I call it.

Lots of reasons! It's full of energy, and that appeals to *a lot* of people, myself included. It's really alive. Celebrities live in NYC, there's great shopping, it's huge and there's plenty to do, the food is great, it's really chic... It's just a cool place. Excluding people who prefer secluded areas or need great weather all year round, there's pretty much something for everyone.

There are also a lot of trash lingering on streets, right? Piling endlessly towards the horizon?

Must be P. Diddy's cheesecake.

Both my parents are from there so maybe I should visit one day. I do know that the most diverse place in the United States is Queens New York though.

'I live in NY.. And I tell you right now.. People are leaving NY because their is shit for work, and one of the highest taxis.'
At that most people I talk to Ether would move away from NY if they had away to escape, or is moving out of NY. Most of my old NY friends have already move down to Virgina, or Texas. I my self will be moving out of NY as soon as I find a nice job Else where not a hard task comparing how NY has one of the highest unemployment rates.

New York it like most large cites in the world, to me it dose excel in the live theaters fiances just because of stock market. It like plenty of city where people stay with in there own space. They do not get to involved strangers. Owning a car seem to be some what impractical in the inner city. the roads suck but that a problem with most north eastern cities. I do find it weird that so many transplants from New York that come down south have very little experiences with other cultures than the borrow they came from wired because I always thought of that city as major cultural center. The other thing I find they expect the local government to pick up the tab living cost? I guess that why there taxes are so high and population is declining. Show me a city were people are stack in on top of one anther where the same out look is different. That seem to be a big problem with most major northern states. West coast major cities make New York a dream city so. To me all cities have good and bad parts and more people you will see allot of bad. Basically the mentally ill out on the streets. From all the place I have been Philadelphia has to be the meanest bunch a-holes around. Pairs was a real stink hole. I found Frankfurt to be nice older Germans. Amsterdam well is Amsterdam. Asia I cant say never got past Greece. Mexico city I was there but job I was on I did not see allot the Mexican seem eager to learn.

I don't know personally, but I have the feeling it's something to do with the fact it's a famous city. Like London and Tokyo; New York is the same. It's got that city life, fast-track pace appeal.
