Okay so i know this forum only has a hand full of car savvy people and about 99% initial D kids (or even worse F&F fans) but CR usually has fast responses so here i go.

I'm looking to put a 350 (or G35 if i can find one cheap) engine into a Datsun Z-series shell. I have a few questions that ive asked on other forums but they seem to take awhile to get back to me, so here goes.. Its hard to find a detailed build thread!

Should i buy the immobilizer or just have the ECU flashed?

What kind of oil pan should I use? i've seen ppl say FWD, RWD and Armada (Front / part-time AWD?) but never went into detail, So i am assuming FWD is Altima/Maxina and the stock 350z is RWD but needs custom fabrication? Anyone know if FWD is a direct bolt up? Im going to be using custom engine and tranny mounts and crossmembers.

Also putting an OEM 350z dashboard in the Z with all the gauges (speedometer, tachometer, battery volt, oil temp, etc) would this need some shaving?

Another possible problem, Im having questions about is the strut towers, would a coilover such as an HSD HR built for a 350z technically fit and would using the 350z front axels/steering rack be a better route?

I hope that crazy bearded man with the 240sx is still on here! D:

Have you tried some Nissan-specific forums? Unfortunately, yes, 99% of the people on CR don't know anything about cars.

S30 is an old Z designation, right? That's crazy/awesome to shoehorn in the VQ35DE, and I'm sure it's been done before.

Unfortunately I'm no Nissan expert I'm more of a Subaru guy...

Ah, I remember seeing a guy do this a while ago. Personally I would rather have the VQ30 out of the 300zx in there but here is a website of a guy who put the VQ35 in a 240z.
