Are there any plans to release manga on the website??

As I don't live in the US or Japan it is difficult to have a source of up-to-date Naruto other than the volumes?

"CRUNCHYROLL

The Official Source for Anime and Drama"

Since at the moment CR is focused on digital rights for simulcast/backlog anime and drama alike, don't expect any manga to be released here.

Currently there seems to be three manga series available to read here;

I remember BasouKazuma saying something about this on a different forum at some point. Long story short, Manga isn't going to be a focus of CR so more may show up sooner or later but it isn't something they are really working on. Of course the stance may have changed since then but if they do get more Manga there is sure to be a front page announcement about it.

The three links Nyarth shared were actually some "experimental" manga that were released shortly after the site went legal. Since then, it's been a "potential" feature of the site, but nothing more than that since the focus has gone more to the video aspect of the site. Suffice it to say, I don't think the Admin will give any definite sign regarding whether or not you can read licensed manga legally off the site.

seeing as this thread was a wondering thread. im wondering if crunchyroll has been taking any hits by google over an article about child porn since there have been a few sites doing a mad shuffle because of google adsense. and since cr was mentioned in the article i just wondered. figured there was no reason to start a new thread to pose my question

I'm wondering why The Anime Network is simulcasting Demon King Daimao along with CR. So, other streaming sites can bid for same shows or is this some sort of joint venture. I'm doubting it's any kind of joint because they are using their own media player and their own subs... as far as I can tell anyway.

I checked out the most recent episode over there and it was pretty nice and no stutter, even in HD. So, you think this will be happening more in the future or is this just a one time thing? I just thought it was interesting is all.

This thread is only about Manga and CR, I'll change the title now to make this more clear, so please don't discuss anything else here. If you would like to discuss this further, you may create a new thread and quote this post.

I personally didn't hear anything about this before so I don't really have much insight into this. After googling, I just see this random blog about it:
http://l7world.com/2010/04/google-sponsors-child-pornography.html

That being the only post with comments on it in months. It looks like a post that's made just to be sensationalistic and shouldn't really affect us. Worst case scenario, we'd make the sexually explicit shows only available to Premium Members even though we only air the censored versions of them.

You can think of CR as a TV broadcaster, sometimes multiple stations have the same show. Like Family Guy, which is on Fox and Cartoon Network. Whether or not it will happen more in the future is anyone's guess.
