I'm not sure if this is important or not, but has anyone paid attention to the short quotes Yuki says at the "Next Episode" Previews?
For some reason I think it makes two or three long sentences....
I haven't had the time to go back and figure this out but it came to my mind at the last three [chronological] episodes.....

I originally watched the 1st season in chronological order as that was the order presented on the DVDs, which I rented through Netflix so it wasn't really feasible to skip around to get to broadcast order.

I can certainly see that from an emotional level, broadcast order makes the most sense. The last episode chronologically "Someday in the Rain" is not much of a season ender.

However, watching it again after a couple years in broadcast order, I just have to say large parts make very little sense that way. I'm very glad I watched it in chronological order before. There is too much talk of "enclosed spaces" and how Haruhi fits into things as if the viewer is supposed to understand. It is very much a driving force to "The Boredom of Haruhi Suzumiya" and "Remote Island Syndrome", and I think you lose a lot by not understanding as it makes it impossible to understand the driving motivations behind the characters. Also, breaking up the Remote Island two-parter really made no sense at all.

BTW, on the DVDs, Haruhi and Kyon do the voiceovers for the next episode preview, where Kyon says which episode will air next, but Haruhi says which comes next in the chronology. This is where the terms "Haruhi order" and "Kyon order" come from. However, this seems to be gone from this version of the episodes.

The show's broadcast order was thoroughly confusing to me, and even though I've read the light novels, I still felt like I had no idea what was going on. That is on top of the fact that the show is alreeady in itself incredibly confusing, which is probably why they decided to mix up the broadcast order.

Hello,
I am currently watching The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya Season 1 in broadcast order but some of the video links seem to be incorrect. The video for Episode 11 "Day of Sagittarius" is actually Episode 9 "Someday in the Rain". Episode 12 "Live Alive" is Episode 11 "Day of Sagittarius". (Episode 13 is correctly showing Episode 13 and the Episode 10 link shows Episode 10).

So, is season 1 the only season that we have to worry about this for?

Shouldn't you change season two's order (as in combine it with season one), so that it follows either broadcast or Chronological order (I like chronological better).

@ Kit1002

Thats because the next episode button follows chronological order, or so I'm told
