Majoring in martial arts...an innovative idea right? is it really? what would it do to the world of martial arts in America? or the world? Should it be allowed?

What are some of the problems it will cause? some solutions?

Here is my opinion on it. the Cons and pros will be regulating martial arts. The government will be stepping up and determining what is and what isnt recognized as a martial art. It will set down criteria. Help get rid of Mcdojos (dojo's teaching crap that doesnt work).

This is a pro and a con because who is even qualified to set down that criteria? what will the criteria be? Criteria for what?what type of martial art? for what purpose?

I know answering those quesions is impossible, but the gov can just recognize certain people teaching martial arts. Sort of like a government certificant saying this guy knows what he's talking about. It doesnt have to make certain practices illegal, just not reconize them as practicle.

what are your thoughts? this is pretty much making martial arts a REAL recognized profession, with REAL criteria. peace over war

The history of martial arts, yes. As for application purposes, why not.

here is a university that you can actually get a BA in martial arts studies.

To each his own. If you're passionate about it, go for it.
I don't really mind.

What use will it be? Learning the history is fine but I don't see any value after that.
