It had Carol and Gustave debating as to who the main character IS. (which goes to show, that Bacanno! is definitely not your usual anime >>). So, as a follow up to the said debate, give your 2 cents on this question: "Who is Baccano's MAIN character?" My personal choice is Isaac and Mira, referred here as a singular unit. Aside from being all over the place, these two are the thread that binds all events of Baccano! together, from the mafia squabbles to the FPF escapade. Enumerate and of course, discuss, if you please ;3

Offline	Permalink Reply Quote Posted 1/4/08 hmm I don't think there is a main character, I think they're all the main characters since the storyline mainly focuses equally on all of them and all there storylines connect to each others storyline which is why it's called Baccano! Italian for "ruckus" since all the characters collide their storyline with each other.Or something along those lines.

Given that all characters collide with each other, some do more visual damage than the others. Along this thought, I think of Firo and Maiza, plus of course, Isaac and Miria.

Offline	Permalink Reply Quote Posted 3/4/08 If you read it, it doesn't start off like the anime, so you wouldn't have that in mind while you're reading. But after you read the first volume, you might have some thoughts in your mind about the main character. Even the author says there are no specific main characters. So what I think after the reading (only vol.1) and watching the anime was that most likely, the main is gonna be Miria and Isaac, because they're the one that makes the story complicated and brings 2 stories together. And plus they both appear in the Steel run part and the 1930 part.

Offline	Permalink Reply Quote Posted 9/19/11 While they said there was no intended main character in the story (or stories), it seems as though Isaac and Miria are involved within the stories of the others a lot more heavily, which makes me think that they would be the closest out of any to being the main characters.
