Probably for a long while. I made my account in 07, but I was watching on here before that (possibly when I was still in high school back in 04) - it's been around for a long time, longer then some streaming websites.

However, I only really come here for a few anime that I watch regularly. I then go through the list of anime they have every so often and watch something that may be interesting.

But they've brought quite a few with appropriate legal actions in the last few months - Durarara, Ichiban Ushiro no Daimaou, HEROMAN, Fairy Tail, Uraboku etc. So they keep getting new material - recently they also started showing Mobile Suit Gundam Wing, because they got PPR for it. Who knows what they'll be able to bring for us next?

All I know is I will continue to support CR, and when I can afford it (if ever....) I'll upgrade my account to a paid one, and get the bonuses that come along with that.

Unlike some websites, when CR went to having the option of paid accounts, they didn't make it impossible for people who choose not to have paid accounts to watch the shows. Sure, you have to wait a little longer, but you still are able to watch all the newest episodes of your favourite shows.

I think that CR will continue to expand it library, and become an even better streaming site in the future!

And if it goes bust, someone else will start up a site along the same lines, and everyone can migrate over to it instead.

It will hopefully last long enough as Naruto goes.

As I'm probably one of the largest Narutards out here, I really enjoy the show, I came here from Dattebayo, which was a really great fansubbing group, I kinda miss them, but I hear rumors going about that they are fansubbing again, but again, I'm staying here cause I want to support the creators of Naruto, which is one of the main reasons I'm subscribing for CR.

Anyone else who's from Dattebayo who shares the same opinion as me?

E: First post on the forum.

I used to watch from DB too. They did really good quality work.

They've dropped the Naruto series completely - it's been over a year since they dropped it (a.k.a. The Day My Heart Died And I Had To Find Someplace Else To Watch It LOL). However, they still sub the movies.

But they still sub Bleach, and they've recently picked up One Piece as well. Every so often I check on their website to see what they're up to, and I'm excited they're doing One Piece.

They still sub a few other anime, but I think Bleach is the one they've been with longest (since they dropped Naruto) and from the looks of it, One Piece will be their new "Naruto".

I agree, when I first started as a member her in 2007 people was very active and there was music videos, dramas and endlessly of anime.
Now it's going downhill. It's actually quite sad because this site was pretty awesome before.

Who knows? The bigger dubbing companies like Funimation would probably pick up the anime before CR would be able to bid on them or could afford to bid on them. I think the ANN podcast said that the anime companies would go to places like Funimation to try and get their shows licensed because they would immediately get money, unlike on CR where the anime companies can really only make money on the ad revenue after the show is posted and people watch them.
I think CR will have to start turning a profit or in a few years it may not exist, but then again I don't think Youtube has turned a profit yet and it isn't going anywhere. And of course I remember reading last year the Facebook turned a profit for the first time, so it isn't impossible. CR just has to figure out a way. I think it might be better to go ater the dramas, they aren't licensed by dub companies very often and they are still pretty popular. I think the key for CR will have to be trying to get the license to an anime for the largest viewing audience as possible, though right now they seem to be getting licenses for pretty big areas of the world.

As long as Shinji or the other Crunchyroll personnel wants it up.
And as long as they're making money out of it.

Well, it has been here for five years, so I would say, as shinji has made this site legal, that it would last for another decade or two.
