Help with Video Playback Problems
|
Ah that's probably it then, since I am using the latest firefox beta(3.6.4). I guess I'll have to use other browsers for crunchyroll until the plugin thing is out of beta and you guys are able to get it fixed up. No rush though.

jpcho83:
Try running traceroute with the flag (which is a capital i, not L): traceroute -I cp71915.edgefcs.net instead of just traceroute, as it changes how it acts and will actually give us the full view. Also, what quality are you trying to use? |

jpcho83, I just checked that exact server, and atleast right now I can stream a 720p anime episode from it without issue, as well as a SD Iljimae (I don't have a drama membership), so if I had to guess its something in the path you are taking to that server.

When I try to watch a video on CR (usually Eyeshield 21), a window sometimes pops up. It says 'Adobe Flash Player Settings' on top and it says that '(website) is requesting permission to store information on your computer'. Below it are two buttons asking you to allow or deny this.
Usually, I can just click one of the buttons to make it go away, but sometimes this window freezes (the video continues to play in the background) and I can't click any of the buttons. I can only right-click to settings, but it doesn't help much. I tried checking and unchecking the settings manager and clearing my browser cache, and it didn't work. I use Opera and Windows. |

any alternatives to opendns or google you'd recommend?

floralaquarium, you should allow it (and probably make that option default) so that it can store settings. if you go to http://www.macromedia.com/support/documentation/en/flashplayer/help/settings_manager03.html you can set the default space allowed, and tell it to let 3rd party store, as well as store common flash components.

I've been having the same problem (loading and then black screen) under Firefox 3.6.4, but it works fine with IE 8. It will also work in Firefox if viewed using IE Tab (defeating the purpose...). |

Hello, I'm having a problem where an video will suddenly end after roughly 15 minutes.
A menu pops up giving me the options to either 'Replay' the video, or select an episode from an randomly generated list of various anime's. (As if the episodes ended naturally). This problem started happening on episode 65 of Gintama and it's still happening on episode 70. (That is 65 - 70, not 65 and 70).I've never had any problems of any kind prior to this, nor has it happened on any other anime's. Basically what I'm wondering is if this is a problem on my end and if so, how do I fix it? I'd greatly appreciate any help/advice I could get regarding this matter. |

@Nozferi
That issue (which I have had in the past) is generally due to the connection to the video server being lost, at which time the flash assumes that the episode must be "done". The best way to deal with it is to change your DNS servers to one of the open DNS servers so that you will pull a different server address that will hopefully not have the connection loss issue. Doing the pingtest and a traceroute would help alot right now, as it would allow a further look at the stability of your connection |

@Scodia1234
Whats your actual problem? All you gave is information about your connection and what you use to steam with, not whats going wrong. @spl1cer it appears you are using a satellite internet provider and that they actually are also hosting the videos for you since they are one of the many video providers. I would say you might want to talk to your isp about it as since if its only Crunchyroll thats slow its clearly an issue within their network (as you never leave the sky.com network) |
