Hi, I have been having issues loading video. I've followed the Video never loading suggestions stated in entry 1 as well as a number of different things within the HELP/FAQ, watch a show, and then can not watch a second show. If I want to watch a second show, I have to go through all that again. I'm not having issues with other providers like Hulu or Anime Network. Below is the information for the ping and speed tests.

I've used Crunchyroll regularly for a few months now without any major problems. Occasionally an ad wouldn't load, but a single refresh took care of that.
Since last week (11/13, I think), I've had the same problem: video either doesn't load at all or loads so slow as to be unwatchable. If it loads, I get a second of video for every 2-3 minutes of buffering. Not really worth it. Flash seems to work fine on all other sites that use it (miniclip, youtube, Facebook, etc.), so I'm guessing that's not the issue. Cool, thanks! I wasn't aware Google had a public DNS server. That actually seems to have solved my problem.

I've used SD-quality streaming by default because 480p and 720p streaming has always been really slow in Crunchyroll. But sometimes even SD-quality streaming has had buffering issues, more so lately. Personally I don't really care about 480p and 720p, but when SD has buffering issues, that's where I draw the line since I pay for my membership.

Uhhh, hello? Is anyone there? I'm still waiting for an answer and someone who has posted after me has received help already. It's getting irritating not being able to watch my videos without frame stutters and lag. I was able to watch a few episodes from my favorite anime yesterday with the only problem that the Flash Plugin kept crashing and I had to keep refreshing. My Adobe is up to date. Today it's frame stutters and lag, again, and now whenever I go to certain parts of the CR site it says CR is taking too long to respond.

On the other hand, if your desktop experiences the same issues with CR, that would indicate a problem at the network level, which would not be addressed by having your laptop checked out. If the problem exists with both your desktop and laptop, I would suggest trying CR on your laptop from a friend's house, preferably someone using a different ISP. If you are still in the same area, however, and the problem is not with the ISP's local routing, the problem could still exist, but at least you would be armed with more helpful information when contacting your ISP. |

My desktop experiences the same Flash Plugin crashes as my laptop, and Adobe is up to date on both, but not the frequent frame stutter and buffer lag as my laptop. It has before, but not to this great of an extent and hasn't in a while. What I'm trying to get at is that I *never* had this problem with CR on my laptop *until recently*. I ran the speed test and ping test again today and I checked out fine. I ran the same two tests on my desktop and checked out fine. I've already asked my father to help look in with the ISP about the problem and will try your idea with going to a friend's house when I can. |

Hi there,
I've had intermittent issues with Crunchyroll for awhile (videos not starting, skipping to the end in the middle) but a hard browser refresh or changing to a lower resolution has always fixed my problem in the past. Yesterday, however, I started seeing lots of videos that just would not load, despite trying all the tips listed on the first page. It's intermittent, but it's happening on every recently posted video I've tried to watch - Yumeiro Patissiere Professional 8, Tegami Bachi 33, and Fortune Arterial 7. After some refreshing, etc, I was able to watch older eps of Fortune Arterial, so I'm wondering if it's some kind of a demand issue, or an issue with Premium-only videos? SPECS AND TESTS Spoiler Alert! Every single video lags unless I play in on SD, but that defeats the purpose of being a premium member. I've been patiently waiting for the problem to fix itself since, from what I've gathered - it started due to a change in server providers on your end. There has been absolutely no problem on my end till now and its impossible for me to watch any videos. There has been no status updates regarding the issue at hand and I would like to know how far it has progressed. Also, any solution you have should also consider that I'm living in a dorm. So any fiddling with the modem or whatever is out of my hands, I think. - - - -Edit- - - - - Here is the result of the ping test. Spoiler Alert! Hi,
I sent a message concerning this and was asked to post the data below here by a Crunchyroll rep. I posted the below information about 8 days ago and still have not gotten a reply. I just got this subscription as a gift a week or so ago and they even heard about the "Black Friday Special" and asked if I wanted that. I politely turned that down and am contemplating telling them to dispute the charge since I am finding that I would rather watch this with the commercials than to not watch it at all. I still have not gotten a reply about the connection. If you are going to asked for the information, at least respond to the post in some manner. If you at least acknowledge you are reviewing the posts folks would not feel they are wasting their time and money. I have now tested this service while at several friend's houses (different states) this holiday using several different PC's. Same problem as originally reported. I'd say this means this is not from my end but definitely on your end. Please review the information that I posted and provide me with some feed back. Spoiler Alert! I'm having a problem with the video adds. Earlier today they started not loading sometimes, and now they just won't load at all. It doesn't seem to matter if I'm trying to watch an old video or a new one, and since the video won't play until it plays the add I can't watch anything more than a few minutes long. I know it isn't a problem with my internet connection because videos that are short enough to not get adds work just fine, and I used an episode pass on one show (Otome Yokai Zakuro Episode 8) and it plays perfectly in 720P. Also, I only have this problem in Google Chrome. Opera and Safari seem to be able to play the adds without any problems.
EDIT: It seems to be fixed now. |
