CR often advises people to try changing their DNS to something different if they have streaming issues. If you had that done before, re-installing Windows would have wiped out those settings. You can click on the orange links to see the instructions for either service to change your DNS to use that service. (CR typically recommends Google Public DNS if you are in North America).

Tried both of them and it did not work.

I'm getting Adobe crashes after, and only after Just Wink commercials play. I get extreme lag, and then Adobe either crashes, or I lose video while audio plays for a bit, then crash. I assume I'll get a 'update Adobe' response, but the fact that it seems to be directly related to your ads has me questioning if I can do anything at all.

Interesting.

If you want to try changing your DNS we can do that.

You can find complete instructions on how to change your DNS by using OpenDNS.com's all encompasing guide. I would try this first, as their servers are only in the USA and Europe. If this doesn't seem to help, you can try Google's Public DNS. Please let me know if this helps

She had already tried both and reported it did not resolve the problem. (See her message at the top of this page).

FYI, there was another user that reported a failure with Firefox playing CR videos recently (but reporting they work in Chrome), and that was with a new install:
http://www.crunchyroll.com/forumtopic-771018/firefox-fail

Given the similarity of the problem and the timing, there might be some common element.

Doh!
Had an email that I was working on simultaneously where someone tried one not the other.

Okay, looking into this further.

I think I may be having the same issue as May. I'm getting stuttered videos on Chrome, but Crunchyroll works fine on Internet Explorer (no stuttering).

I have been getting stuttering with videos recently also. It was happening in Chrome and Internet Explorer. I tried changing from Google's DNS to OpenDNS and for now seems to have remedied the problem.

I get alot more stuttering than normal in Chrome, FireFox and IE. Sometimes it streams perfect, but mostly it stutters now. I have tried to use both Google DNS and OpenDNS, and no luck

Videos are pretty much unwatchable for me tonight. I run my own DNS resolvers (one runs BIND and the other runs Unbound) and I restarted both as well as trying Google's DNS. I am getting less than 2mbps from CR most of the time, usually less. I saw an occasional spike of 3mbps but not enough to fill the buffer for long at even 720p.

Sometimes i start a episode in one tab and mute it, then open the same episode in a new tab and it gets mostly watchable for some reason.

Video play back is getting ridiculous. Have your network admins look into the problem and see where it could be originating. with multiple people having the same problem it is most likely not just individual issues. at the same time it could be out side of CR's Network. or just a Small error in the Video player

Most likely it is region dependent and has to do with the routing from your location to the CR servers. I am located in Texas and have never had an issue with video playback through the website. It could just be that Texas is closer to the CR servers than where you are located.

Most streaming sites get around this problem by buying or renting servers all over the world in several different locations. I am sure CR does something similar, however I am unsure as to how many they have set up.
