Help with Video Playback Problems
|
I have the same issue in terms of not being able to resolve crunchy - only OpenDNS can. Main difference being I still have the freezing/buffering issue. Changing DNS didn't do anything other than being able to resolve crunchy.fcod.llnwd.net - in fact playback got even worse.

Out of the blue for some reason I was able to resolve it tonight but there's definitely some routing issue going on. Posting results on here in case anyone is still looking into it:

OpenDNS resolves any non-existing hostname to hit-nxdomain.opendns.com or 67.215.65.132. So OpenDNS can't resolve crunchy.fcod.llnwd.net either.

So you still have not successfully resolved it. I actually believe that crunchy.fcod.llnwd.net truly doesn't exist. The streams are coming from somewhere else. The people of Crunchyroll need to update the first post with the correct hostname. |

You are no doubt correct, as fcod.llnwd.net is Limelight Networks, which CR hasn't used as their CDN in quite a while. AFAIK, they currently use Akamai Technologies. |

Yes, that's my real age.

Thanks for the info.
Guess there isn't much more I can do except wait and hope someone is still looking into this issue. |

What exactly is going on here? I got a mail saying Bjaker quoted my post.
Come on here and not only is there no quoted post but both my original post and redhead11's post has been deleted??? Do you people just sweep posts where customers are not happy under the rug and delete them? I was actually trying to help by mentioning some of the symptoms I was having and this is how you treat me? |

I deleted the posts so I could help keep things in order for when I jumped back in after holiday. I apologize that I upset you. |

It's just unsettling when something like that happens for no apparent reason (not the first time either).
Can we please get an update on where the freezing issue is currently at and an approximate ETA? Like mentioned before it has been close to 4 months now since it first occurred. |

Videos Halting in the middle is a per basis issue. There is not one overarching problem causing this. Right now Starry and I have to troubleshoot them individually, until the issue is resolved for that person. |

So how do I go about getting some help? I don't think anyone is looking at my case.

Looks like you've sent an email and Starry has sent the starting point for troubleshooting these. Just respond on back to that email and we'll continue to work with you. |

Ok, I've tried changing the DNS, the resolution, cleared the cache, run tests, everything "Support" has asked of me and the stuttering video problems are still there! The problem in NOT my machine, NOT my net connection, NOT my DNS routing, NOT an indication Commander LaForge needs to recalibrate the warp coils in the starboard nacelle! I have had it with a 25 minute show taking 40 minutes OR MORE to see. When my Premium Membership expires I wish CR the very best of luck getting me to renew it.

Yes I'm crazy but I'd have to be nuts to admit it...

I am having issues with buffering again ~.~
It's always the same issue: It seems the download is just slowing down for no apparent reason. I am in germany, my connection: I am using Opera, my computer is definitely able to handle 1080p and I did clear the flash-cache. 2 things are pretty interesting: - This is what netmeter shows while watching Gintama ep 256 on 1080p: ![]() It is clearly visible that it just randomly stops downloading completely. In fact it stops downloading and a few seconds later the video lags. In the worst cases I have to restart it by either clicking the progressbar or refreshing the whole page. I wish that the player at least would detect such problems and automatically reconnect, preferably before the video even lags . The second thing: In the first post you ask me for a "tracert crunchy.fcod.llnwd.net". That host doesnt exist, so neither tracert nor ping or nslookup work on it. I checked what the correct ip is with wireshark and the download indeed comes from some other server: 92.122.207.118 which was found by a dns-request for a156.vig5.akafms.net Maybe you might want to update the first post? From what I have seen in wireshark it somehow loses the connection and reconnects only if I click the progressbar -if I am lucky- |
