We do not support playback in the PS3 browser. It's version of Flash is too old.

If you download the PS3 app from the PSN Store, you can def watch it in full screen there.

Holy crap the buffering/stuttering still happens... both on browser and on panasonic viera. After seeing so many with the same problem for so long, it is very strange it is still around! Cycling through my ISP, google DNS, opendns is just about the only thing that will change performance but all of them at different times lead to sucky performance these days with regards to the content server being used.

Perhaps crunchy can try and take server mapping more directly into it's hands or make some benchmark/diagnostic app(s) that tests/stresses the infrastructure while taking meaningful measurements? Perhaps build such instrumentation into the player apps themselves, if not already there? Analyze the collected data to pressure the CDNs into fixing the problem rather than letting them think this is just 1 or a few hundred people. My naive guess though is that CDNs must be categorizing crunchy into low priority traffic and this is the result.

I and several paying subscribers in Los Angeles/Orange County area are affected by this... we're all on either Time Warner or Charter and this crap has been happening now for I think 2 years. As someone else said, I often decide to keep crunchy as more as a donation to anime industry, however want to make sure my watching statistics reflect what I'm watching back to show creators/studios so they know which shows I give a damn about... pretty hard to do when you get to take a minute break every 45 seconds at bad times. It's pretty hard not to go download something either... again often friends in the area all kinda defect to this to where it's more of the norm. And DL'd shows play perfect.

I am getting sick and tired of the buffering/stuttering issues that only new releases seem to get. They are virtually unwatchable the first 24 hours because they freeze up and never resume play. I'd like to blame excess server traffic or my connection, but this has happened on multiple connection types/speeds, early in the morning, on multiple computers, and my PS3/Xbox 360 with the app. I've been a loyal CR subscriber for nearly three years and the video quality is getting worse instead of better with the shows I PAY you(and license companies) to watch.

Please look into this or find a way to reproduce it for resolution. If you don't believe this is a problem, just scour the comments of a new video and you will see that multiple premium members are affected with the same issue.

It's funny, I watched one of the movies on Crunchyroll the other day in full HD, no stuttering, buffering or pausing at all. It was a miracle.

Why can't watching episodes be like this?

I really can't take this. The problem has nothing to do with my computer, video playing works on dozens of other sites. This problem is on your end. If this is the best anime viewing website (one can view in Canada, mind you) with this terrible of video buffering/playing then that's a little bit sickening. Is there any real reason as to why this problem hasn't been fixed yet?

Unfortunately, Bjaker, the problem is not on my end so none of the solutions will do anything. The problem lies within the player or servers this site uses. The evidence is all around CR, computers varying from 1.0 ghz to 3.5 ghz, upload speeds from 4 mbps to 54 mbps, and yet the videos still won't play properly for a lot of people. I really would like to pay and support the anime industry but it's hard to justify that if the site I'd be paying to won't recognize that the problem belongs on their end and do something about it. Is it really too much to ask for videos to play with some semblance of fluidity, without the constant video playback issues?

So I've been diving into the forums and every time someone posts about this playback problem you admins always tell us to use the contact button so you can trouble shoot the problem. Only thing is, from the amounts of post i see, it's not us that is causing the problem. You would think with all these post we would see "video playback problem solved" thread or something of that nature from a person that has been experiencing these issues. I've tried going over your guide to fix it, I've ran tracert ect. to the servers and everything is fine on my end, just like many other of the users, but despite it being fine on my end, the video playback is still full of problems. So CR needs to re-evaluate who's end is really causing the issue, because from what I've read from other users, and experienced myself, it isn't user side. If this was a free site like some, I wouldn't even bother to raise the issue, but this is a pay site "one which I have paid for a few years", so I do kinda expect admins that can see both sides of the coin and realize to themselves that with all the issues, maybe it is on cr's end that is the issue.

I've been paying monthly in the hopes that these playback issues would be gone, and finally I got some videos to play nicely on the beginning of the year. So I decided to sign premium for a year, and now that I spent a year subscription money the playback issues are back. I can't play anything on ps3 and computer.

No where have I said that the issue is on your end.

It's just -much- easier for me to help troubleshoot these problems when I have a single email thread with a user experiencing problems.
I'm kind of forum stupid so having to search and scour for test results, or to see what a user has done, slows me down.
When I work with someone directly via email I'm able to keep track of what is going on, what the user has tried, and work faster towards a resolution to the problem.

I apologize if you are offended or put off by me trying to keep things in a flow that works for me.
