Hell if you really want to die go for it I would not stop you If your no a Bridge threating to jump I cheer you no and call you all sorts of name for not jump. As long as traffic is stopped, and no else will get hurt. You did not ask to be born and going to heck that up to you. Dying of cancer there many ways to kill yourself and not much effort to do it and I can complete understand why you may want to.

Two Things, I'll stop a quick suicide becuase you might suddenly realise it was a bad idea on the way down. I'll not stop someone slowly killing themselves with bad habits because I'm sorry. That's freedom.

A professional health care provider, specifically one who often get's to do the Dr's dirty work while the doctors keep their hands lily white, I think assisted suicide is a true slippery slope (not a fallacy) to mercy killing, euthanisia and legalised murder of those whose health condition is .. inconvienient. I am cautious about the concept simply because of that. That said there are states of being that I know I would not enjoy. And others that would destroy my sense of self ( I do not want to have my body live on, drooling in a corner while everything that makes me .. ME withers away in incoherence and rage). After a certain age (still haven't decided exactly when) I plan to have the following tattooed on my chest (right where the paddles would go)

DNR: if I wake up. I sue.

If you want to die then go ahead. I really wouldn't care if anyone around me commited suicide. It was their decision and so I'm not going to hold it against them. Unless they leave behind something like a massive debt or hate against me and others. In which case I would save them, make them deal with their crap and then let them kill themselves if they still wanted to.
