it happens...i dated my best friend XP that didn't work out very well at ALL!!!! But I know some people that it worked well for...needless to say at least me and him are not best friends anymore XP

Yes. I fell for my best friend and then we dated. :)) In the end, it didn't work out but we're still the best of friends. What were we thinking. We've known each other for 12 years LOL. |

I don't see it that way. If there's no interest at first how long would an interest later on even last? And what are the odds of the other side feeling the same way?
Never mind that, what kind of person would have a best friend of the opposite sex? The girl would have to be boyish, or the boy would have to be gayish, now draw that to extremes.
I'd hate to be stuck in friendship with someone I like.
