What do you think of Miley Cyrus - Can't Be Tamed Music Video and song?
Posted 7/7/10
She still sounds like a red neck, and as a video parody put it, a "slutty 'Big Bird'".

I actually felt from the song that Miley Cyrus was more sending a message than writing the song just solely for entertainment.

My Guess: I think that the intention of that song, was miley wanting to show haters and everyone who was restricting and putting her down, that she can't stand it anymore and that its driving her crazy.

1. I found the parts where she was screaming "I Can't be changed, blamed, and tamed" more of a like "can't" as in "no i dont want u to do that!" Like when someone is about to kill you.. You say "NO U CANT KILL ME!" (lol sory for the lame example). I felt it was that kind of a "cant" or more desperate and scared and berzerk can't.

2. I also listened to the tone where she was saying "Don't channgeee mee..." in the part of the song where she has all those peacock feathers behind or or something.. yeaa i felt that part.. (u may have thought she soudned slutty the way she said it..) was a cry or a plead from her. More like.. idk > < it just felt like she was trying to project pain rather than sluttyness

3. Okay now.. about the sluttyness.. WHICH girl pop singer doesn't have a lil bit of that in their song? Seriously.. none. And so what if she got ideas from Rihanna, Brittney, or Adam Lambert. Did they totally create their ideas? they kinda had to get inspired or something from soething else.. so its not like its a hundred percent their work. Plus.. Originality is way too rare nowadays. If Miley didn't want to do something close to another singer JUST BECAUSE she didnd't want to be a slight copy-cat and wanted to be DIFFERENt.. then HOW original and different would she be? EVERYONE wants to be different and they try WAY too hard to not be unoriginal... HONESTLY.. i think its way important to say the truth like u see it. IF Miley thinks thats the best way to project her song and emotions and message. Then that's how shes gunna do it. Originality? don't talk shit with me.. like as if brittney, rihanna, or adam, or even lady gaga... as if they haven't copied or taken others works and tried their best to make it their own.

4. I also found the fact that she was in a cage and she had this "bird theme".. to be kinda like.. "I WANT TO BREAK FREE!! STOP LOCKING ME UP!" which i found was directed directly at both those haters.. and the show "Hannah Montana" (If u wanna noe why i think Hannah montana is a cage for miley.. ask i got my opinions.)

5. I also found that the way she shaked her head like rihanna does to show she's wild and rough and crazy and scary... plus how she was acting there.. was VERY much saying.. "YOU GUYS ARE DRIVING ME CRAZZYYY!!!!"

so yeaa.. thats pretty much what i think (: I'd think u guys would be SO MUCH better.. if instead of criticizing someone whos life doesn't depend on you at all... you actually thought of her message. Cuz hatin ain't gettin u no where.

People grow up.. <__< guess u still needa learn that urself though.

P.S. Originality contradicts itself way too much in this world. If miley made her song just so she could be different and unoriginal.. that would make her just as unoriginal because as we all noe.. EVERYONE wants to be different ^___^ so what's better.. saying the truth as you see it? Or not getting anywhere cuz u dont noe what to do cuz EVERYTHING seems to be UNORIGINAL.

AND we need to stop treating miley cyrus like a fucking KID she friggin 17 yrs old or around there. She cant always be singing little kid bops like nobody's perfect (though i loved that song) we have to remember she is growing up and her styles and aspects on things WILL change..

omg.. someone with some sense.. thank god ur not extinct! D: what is with the comments of the people here? i seriously find it annoying that everyone is like not giving miley any room to grow. PEOPLE GROW UP D: repetitive i noe. but the truth i see.

I feel bad for her dad. 0_o There's no way he likes seeing his daughter like this unless he's some sick old bastard. And I'd like to say that he hasn't been trying to stop her in any way (although I don't think he's doing a good enough job) because he apparently did and she threatened to leave home if he didn't do something or other (? That's what I heard anyway.)

i can't believe u actually believe what you "hear" about celebrities... unless u hear it coming right out of the celebrities mouth.. u can ACTUALLY believe it?

And im not a hundred percent sure what goes on in her family... but seriously. what gives u a right to talk about her family like ur her sister or something.

Then next off.. if her dad isn't stopping her.. then doesn't that say something else? I know billy ray cyrus is a really good father, i was a big fan and a follow-upper of his. He's wise. So just stop. If he isn't stopping her, maybe thats cuz he sees something good in whatever she does. IDK what u would do to ur child... but over here ^___^ We believe in our young because we love them. Would u ? (:

She be sexy all she wants when she's 18 but seriously?
The mv isn't original, it looks like a collab with rihanna, lady gaga, michael jackson's thriller and all the other artists..
she insisted on mtv that this is original, but HOW? I saw this in every other mv.

The song is catchy but she didn't do the lyrics or song.
Anyone can do this with a hollywood crew behind them.
Although Miley has a rare explosive energy inside her, she should finish school and learn what ORIGINAL really means.
Does the world really need a 17 year old girl about to rip her clothes off? NOT REALLY

When i first read what you were writing.. my reaction was ARE U KIDDING ME? too ^___^

So what if a lot of the members in her audience are 12 and she's not even 18?
Why can't she do it now?
That sentence didn't even make sense (:
LOL.. who in the world is actually still ORIGINAL.. lolz
and you still don't listen to her? seriously girll.. go get ur ears or mind checked or something x)

You sure seem to know a lot about what she DOES or DOESNT DO. Stalkerrr much 8)
Lol... *pats u on the head* keep telling urself that ^___^
Learn what original means? Honey.. i think u should sit in the class with her.
Nor does the world need haters and complainers not to mention ppl who think they're all grown up. but u noe whaT? we still got em ^__^ so get used to it.

Okay.. let me explain what i meant. Originality? that is the rarest thing in the world.. seriously. No one is original.. first off, everyone gets something from inspiration aka. what they hear or see from other places. Second off, EVERYONE wants to be different.. if u try so hard to be different JUST LIKE EVERYONE ELSE.. then how are u different or original? We are EXACTLY the same as everyone else. Thus, people who try to make their songs different, are just as unoriginal as the rest.

Next part... Can't she do this when shes older? Why not now? PEOPLE GROW UP! (gosh i hate my repetitiveness..) and people make mistakes and learn from them. so what if miley does something u dont like or you find bad... does she live for you? LOL.. FAT CHANCE! xD

NExt.. 12 year olds watching her? Why are they watching her? cuz their parents are away, leaving them home along to watch hannah montana. Who's responsibility are the children? Miley Cyrus, another normal teenager? OR their parents themselves. I think miley has her own life to handle.

Hope u enjoyed our lil one-sided convo ^___^

I heard that she wrote this whole album herself... And this was from an interview with Ryan Seacrest (sp?)
All I've got to say is, no wonder. I'm not surprised she wrote it.

The music is catchy, as is all Top 40 hits. And she's that type of singer. But read the lyrics, and they don't work out musically.
Compared to her previous image, she's trying to grow up. In an unfortunate way, no less.
It's really sad that her audience is still 12 years old. I understand why she quit her show and that persona. If she didn't, she would still have even younger kids following her trends.

I hope parents take it onto themselves and screen Miley out. She wants to become a fully mainstream teen sensation. Not tween.
Although I don't like her, or her music, you have to understand where she's coming from to be fair.

I just hope she takes the transition slowly, to whatever image she would like to pursue. If she does, then I'm sure parents will catch on and realize she is no longer the same person they let their kids watch on tv.

Sorry if u think that i need to grow up, but she is only 17. If i was her i wouldnt go right from little kid superstar to what she is now, i would transition very slowly so people get used to the idea so like when shes 20 she can be like that (plus i would never do that eaither) and i found an artical that proves why this was a bad idea

Week Ending July 4, 2010: Miley's Tricky Transition
Posted Wed Jul 7, 2010 12:03pm PDT by Paul Grein in Chart Watch
Stray Cats had a top five hit in 1983 called "(She's) Sexy + 17." That's a tricky combination, at least when you're a Disney-created teen idol. Just ask Miley Cyrus, whose Can't Be Tamed slips from #3 to #9 in its second week on The Billboard 200. The album has sold 135,000 copies in its first two weeks, which is well below Cyrus' usual standards. Her last full-length studio album, Breakout, sold 534,000 copies in its first two weeks in the summer of 2008. The Hannah Montana: The Movie soundtrack sold 225,000 copies in its first two weeks in the spring of 2009. Cyrus' The Time Of Our Lives EP sold 215,000 copies in its first two weeks in September.
Cyrus is also having some trouble on the Hot Digital Songs chart. The album's punchy title track falls from #12 to #21. The four other songs from the album that appeared on the 200-deep Digital Songs chart last week all fell off the chart this week. Those songs are "Stay" (#47 last week), "Liberty Walk" (#80), "Two More Lonely People" (#129) and a cover of Poison's 1988 smash "Every Rose Has Its Thorn" (#131). By contrast, two of Cyrus' old hits just keep chugging along. "Party In The U.S.A. holds at #74 in its 47th week. "The Climb" drops from #136 to #179 in its 70th week.

Some have suggested that Cyrus' young fans (or perhaps their parents) are put off by her new, more mature image, as reflected in the midriff-baring album cover and the more provocative tone of her new single, "Can't Be Tamed." To be sure, Cyrus doesn't look as demure on the cover of the new album as she did on the cover of Hannah Montana: The Movie, where she personified wholesome, all-American beauty. But "Can't Be Tamed" is hardly risqué. It's mildly rebellious, but what 17-year old in America isn't?
Female artists often have a rocky passage as they move from teen stardom to adulthood. Britney Spears raised some eyebrows with her sexy 2001 hit "I'm A Slave 4 U," which was released when she was 19. The following year, she appeared to comment on her transition to adulthood in her songs, "I'm Not A Girl, Not Yet A Woman" and "Overprotected."
Christina Aguilera stirred considerable controversy with her 2002 song, "Dirrty" (featuring rapper Redman), which was released when she was 21. The risqué song peaked at #48 on the Hot 100, breaking a string of seven consecutive top 20 hits.
Cyrus is younger than Spears and Aguilera were when they released the songs that announced that they were all grown up. Cyrus was also younger than these other artists when she became a star. Cyrus was not yet 14 when the Hannah Montana soundtrack charted in October 2006. Spears was 17 and Aguilera was 18 when their debut albums charted in 1999. So it's possible that some people will be (even) more intent on keeping Cyrus' image pure than they were with Spears and Aguilera.

I new this was going to happen cuz her biggest fans where little kids and she needed to try and transition slowly so that she can get to a more mature.

Well you could say, "why can't girls sleep with guys until they are 16?" Why can't they smoke or drink until they are 18?" THEY'RE GONNA DO IT ANYWAYS.

I have no idea what she does...I just commented on her energy level. It's great! She has so much power in her voice and dance. But whether she knows how to use it, GOD KNOWS. But it certainly seems that her hollywood crew is guiding her the WRONG WAY.

Originality, is something she stated herself. In MTV interview, she proclaimed that her music was original UNLIKE music out there. By using your perspective, she's the same as everyone. So doesn't that make her dumb by saying that?

Parents are definitely responsible. I totally agree. That's why it scares me that someone like Miley Cyrus can be so famous, when she's really like everybody else.

Well they are gunna do it anyways. ur a teenage (or u've been one) u noe how it is among us normal teenagers.
EXACTLY.. god knows. i dont, u dont, no one else does. So what gives us the right to judge?

Define the wrong way. the way u dont think is right? She isn't u.

No it just means either that is not a thought that has occurred through her head making her just a normal teenager who hasn't experienced that yet.. OR she could just know something we dont.. in that case we're stupid without knowing it. We really can't say shes dumb or shes going the wrong way, cuz its not like we've mastered life.

Why should it scare u? People like everybody else have the right to be famous if they want to.

I much more prefer taht you are stating this with room for her to improve as if not totally puttingher down. I don't have anything to argue with you because from this quote you sounded only like you were giving useful critisizm.

But note.. she's been hannah montana since she was 7. and shes almost 18 now. isn't that a really long time? how can someone be able to stay SANE while trying to act nice in front of a million kids. No one in this world is perfect, but the media tried to make miley look as perfect as possible for the kids to set a "good example". How long can a NORMAL TEENAGER (or a child back then) hold up this act? She isn't perfect, she definitely noes that as well. but we have to get used to the fact ath its all a growing process..

I wasn't saying u were immature or needed to grow up, i was saying i think you should accept that miley is growing up, changes happen, you can't expect her to be the same pure girl.

She's making us acknowledge that we can't change who she is, despite all of our criticisms about how she currently is now.
(Gosh. Although, I don't really hate the Music Video including the music.. and I can't also really say I like it. I don't know. It's mixed feelings. )
