If you think manga is so much better than stop watching anime. Just remember what you could've had.

Manga is always better. Anime is good with the animation and soundtrack but the problem is that a lot of the story is usually lost in the transfer. There's plenty of good anime but theres a lot more good manga out. I agree however that the biggest advantage of anime is that the animation explains a lot of movement that is not seen in the frames.

It all depends on the series. There are mangas I love more than the anime (Negima comes right to mind and it's still ongoing as a manga-I find the manga better as the anime doesn't adapt it well, but is still watchable; ditto for Chobits and some of Love Hina). There are some anime I prefer over the manga (Bleach is close though really I find it to be one of the more faithful adaptations, and just like the anime better due to seeing fight scenes in action and more clearly). And then there's anime and manga like Full Metal Alchemist, which despite changing to its own storyline halfway through the manga and anime at one point, BOTH stories I find equally good (I still read the ongoing manga).

although it pains me to say this since neon genesis evangelion is my favorite show and the one that really got me hooked on the whole anime/manga gig, i'd have to go with manga .manga, most of the time, possesses more depth in terms of plot and characters than its anime counterpart. also, some anime end in such an ambiguous manner and leave a lot of loose ends. it really annoys me when an anime adaptation doesn't stay true to the source material .

I myself am not a manga fan.
Sorry Anime for me!

Manga is nice and all but when it comes down to it anime kicks it's butt. Most catch phrases, personalities, costumes, and etc. come from anime.

It really does depend on the series, though I tend to lean more towards anime.

For a simple reason. Anime I can get free online. =) Not to mention I can get an entire series for $30 (4 episodes for $25 on a low quality DVD? I don't think so...) Where as manga is $10 EACH. That's a bit to steep for me, I'm too cheap for that.

Also I sometimes feel uncomfortable reading shounen manga because the fight scenes seem all chopped up to me, so I tend to buy more shoujo manga. A good fight scene animated is like....*Drools* Though I can name a few anime with pathetic fight scenes (Saiyuki comes to mind)

BUT, when it comes to series like Fruits Basket or Chobits it's the manga all the way! The Gravitation manga is insane compared to the anime. Do you get to see a giant robotic panda of mass destruction in the anime? I don't think so!

Depends, but its manga for most.
I like watching the fighting scenes in the anime but sadly anime cuts out many of my favorate scenes from the manga....and the fillers are usually corny...
But sometimes theres stuff in the anime thats excluded in the manga, but i still enjoy the manga alot because iono...just doo
ahaha, who needs movement when you've got ur imagination ahahahaha

Anime definetly.
Although manga is fun to read after youve seen a show... or if you want more detail or a little different storyline...
I just find it all quite emotionless. It's really hard to portray and interpret emotions like you can through anime. Also music always plays a big role for me so once again anime wins.

I think if you are looking for a lot of detail in terms of story the manga is better. But I find that it is more interesting watching action based mangas in anime form like Bleach or Dragon Ball. But for dramas, I think the books are better they tend to explore characters more and develop them more
