I speak Mandarin and Shanghainese <---- is that even a word???

Yes it is. 上海话 is rather impractical when debating it in English, and 'Shanghaihua' is improper, considering that it isn't even in 'Shanghaihua', so Shanghainese would probably be the best word to describe it.

It's mainly spoken around Taishan and it sounds similar to Cantonese.
