Yes it is. 上海话 is rather impractical when debating it in English, and 'Shanghaihua' is improper, considering that it isn't even in 'Shanghaihua', so Shanghainese would probably be the best word to describe it.

putonghua since I was born...hardly ever speak my hometown dialect
actually, most people in China speak putonghua instead of their dialects nowadays

don't know the exact name of it...
since Xi'an is my hometown,i guess the dialect could be called Shaanxinese

i can speak cantonese although i'm not that great at it lol. i can read and write some in traditional. i want to learn mandarin in college, but so far it seems that all the classes are full... -_-
