-First thread made on CR in almost a year. But that's beside the point of why this was made. (Lock if duplicate. Checked, but you never know.) I'd also prefer people speak freely yet not forget that it's a discussion. No insults required to speak your mind here.

I've been posting, and glancing around in all the forums. (General/Anime/Manga)
And it's come my attention that there are quite a few threads mainly based on getting the posters to talk sexual desires, or sexual experiences.

So the choices to side/talk about are pretty much these:
-Why do you feel that there are so many sexual threads created in the forums?
or,
-Do you some of you believe that it may not have enough?
or,
-Do you just simply believe that we are as a whole mature enough to talk about it?

In my opinion, I think they're really being made in such quantity is because people are simply bored or either seeking some type of connection of sexual experiences or thought processes. Truthfully, that's all I can fathom it being.

As far as if there are enough. I believe there are almost too many. It's almost to a point I think that there will come a time that most of them will be locked or new ones will be made and become locked. Just so many sex threads in the mesh, eventually they'll start to run into one another.

Personally, I feel that most of our posters here are at least 13-16 years of age. And that just puts me in an awkward thought process when I choose to participate in those said threads. Maturity on this site ranges from the kids that don't post using proper grammar to those who over-use it and even sometimes attempt to lord it over those who aren't as crafty with words. After all, the most intelligent sounding man can mask his true ignorance with large words. So, personally I feel that in a whole, no. The maturity is sometimes there, but I just feel that the age at which people are talking about it is just far to casual.

Lol humpity hump.

Anywho, I don't think about that anymore since the mods allow such content on here (but monitor those threads to make sure it doesn't get too inappropriate I think). I do have concern of the young kids who read that stuff in the forums. Don't know the age range since so many people lie about their age so meh. Even though you're suppose to discuss maturely in such adult content threads, It's really up to shinji or the mods to remove them. Or make a section for mature members I guess.

I reckon it's just the age of most of the members, really. They're largely in their early to late teens, so sex is 'the big thing' they want to talk about.

Much older than that, and the people who go on about it the most are the ones who don't get any.

"T-Rish" says: I definitely agree with you. Most teens usually turn to the internet for sex-based references, and they turn to whichever forum they're in most. I guess us adults should behave as their online role model, ne~.

It's just a phase of growing up. The threads discussing sex are made by 15 year old guys. The threads discussing what you would do if your crush kissed you are made by 15 year old girls.

As far as the sex threads all getting locked, I doubt it. No offense intended to the mods on this site, but sometimes I wonder if there even are any. There are threads asking non-discussable questions with answers on the first page, that run into the hundreds of pages. There are multiple unlocked duplicates on a range of subjects. There are threads that haven't had a single post in over 2 years. All of these should be at worst locked, but in most cases deleted altogether.

Yeah? So? Are you really all that surprised? Sex revolves our everyday lives. If we're not talking about it over the Internet then we're talking about it to our buddies and friends in real life. It's just on the Internet, it's easier to talk about things since no one knows you. Especially if you're a small teen who's never gotten a kiss or had sex and just want to know more due to curiosity.

Why would we remove discussion on sex? O_o
This is a pg13 site. If I remember correctly it was the 4th grade that they started to take us aside and taught us about sex, encouraging us to learn more about our bodies and how babies are made.
I'll remove posts that get too out of hand, but if there are people having a proper discussion, why on earth would I remove that?
I don't understand why it's such a big issue that there are so many sex threads.
Let's see you sit down with 5 people for 8 hours in real life. I'm sure you'll end up stumbling on the topic of sex sooner or later. I don't see the big deal. Everyone talks about sex, so what if they talk about it over the net as well?

There's a thing called "reporting"
If you don't agree that a thread should stay opened then report it instead of complaining.

To be honest, I have no problem with it. Though it really dose depend on the thread's topic.

I was introduced to the subject sex at least in my early teens (11 I believe), so seeing it being discussed in the threads is not surprising. What I don't understand is why is it treated like such a taboo? Like Kippu said, sex revolves around our everyday lives. We all know that the site's rating is PG-13, which means that some of the material maybe deemed....raunchy. When you sign up for this site, it clearly states this. The younger audiences who proceed to continue have been cautioned, and therefore (at least I believe) the staff takes little responsibility on what you decide to do; read the rules, they're there for a reason.

If you find a topic that seems unsuitable, then use the report button located underneath the offending post/thread. We mods don't know unless you say something.

It has, like mentioned, most likely to do with the general age here.
Sex is something exciting, mystical, intriguing for most early teens. Naturally they want to talk about it. It's sort of the "next frontier"
I personally think it's a good way of dealing with it.
If it wasn't discussed or talked about at all. Many guys with go into sex with their perspective largely scewed by porn, and girls by romance stories. Hence, she would expect their bodies to melt together in the ultimate expression of love and intimacy... And he expects to pull her hair and cum on her face. Ok that is an over simplification, and many guys here probably wouldn't do that, but you get the idea.

Let them have their sex threads. It might help someone who is extremely nervous, or just uncertain about it all.

Not saying there's a problem with it. That's something in life that's unavoidable. Just don't want to see another thread pop up about the site being inappropriate like from this this kid that happened last year. lol his threads were hilarious, except one where he insulted my friend over an profile pic <_<
an example

Heh. I liked how you said "humpity hump"
& No. It's natural. Half of our body is made for sexual activity.
So, why not talk about "humpity hump"?
We're just curious, that's why we make threads about it (:

There are so many because this site has curious prepubescent girls and anime shut-ins yearning to learn more and feel more connected to the subject.

I came to this site even before entering the age registration in cr =P . CURSES cr for ruining my mind with sexual innuendo's =P jk x].

Anyways

Kids/teens are curious sex threads but I just avoid these threads and move on. Though when I do get curious on how things *work* then I proceed and have warned myself to click and see what this stuff is about , that will help answer my questions on these issues I have . C: I find these threads resourceful at times so theirs no reason to take it out if it will help you later in the long run.

Side note : Everyone is curious .

because people who aren't getting it feel the need to talk about it.

more than enough.

if they were mature enough to talk about it, they wouldn't feel the need to talk about it so much.

I don't see the problem with talking about sex. Let's face it, so many aspects of our lives revolve around it. People need to stop treating it as such a taboo. Our bodies were made to have sex, it's only natural. And as for all the younger CR members, I think that talking about it is the best way of dealing with all their questions and expectations regarding sex.

it's not "taboo".. but it's not the only thing in the world. Our bodies were made to do a lot of things, but you don't see a thread about blinking... or sneezing, or hiccuping. (yes, I know that's a very simplistic comparison)
