I haven't read many mangas yet, but so far the saddest one I've come across has been Deep Love- Ayu No Monogatari.

Got to agree with Clannad, although I would say Bitter Virgin is pretty sad too

D.Gray-man
Tsubasa
Ao no Exorcist

Too be honest, I avoid tragedy's. As soon as I spot that word in the Genre category, I don't even bother reading it. I don't like to read depressing things. There are some that have caught me.. like the three I mentioned, because I didn't look over the Genre category.. But for the most part, no thank you. Lol.

DEEP LOVE

This manga was terribly, terribly sad. Not to mention depressing. What killed me the most was that when there were happy parts, something sad was unfortunately bound to happen.

This manga made me cry more than I would like to mention.

This manga is really awesome!.,it's different from any other manga i've ever read...i totally cry whenever i see Ayu suffer..and their's are a lot of scene that you will never expect to happen..

But what really made me cry was the ending.. T_T

Omg i stopped reading after the first 5 pages of chapter 1,I just couldnt read
something like that....

Half & Half by Kouji Seo-although it was a one shot, it was both touching and sad, especially the end. Won't spoil too much, but it's available at Manga Fox if anyone is curious.

I'm not sure which 'tragedy' manga I've read the most of because I'm exactly sure what qualifies as part of the 'tragedy' genre.

Hmm, tragedy? The closest I've read would be Death Note.
