War, has killed untold millions of people. We have figured out how to incinerate who cities. Positive Nuclear Power, computers, sat light, radar, x-ray, sterile operating room's. Anther word war is bad but we benefit from it sad but true.

War is fear so people get the butt's in-gear and government throughout ton money at the privet sector to come up with solutions.

Wrong. When war simply hijacks technology in order to compete an arm race. And it does so by depleting natural resources to increase production, raising supply and demand with disposable technology, and last but not least indoctrinating the shock doctrine to make way for disaster capitalism.

And all these needless wastes were all outside the context of the pain and lost on human lives.

Now, what's this positivity of war?

Population control, and intervention on the unjust is all I can see war being any good for.

Basically what am getting at is all the invention that come from it. Technology we still be using rotary phone. we would still be using and, Nor gates for logic I do not want war I am just stating fact. People as a whole tend to stay with what the know. Change is hard being pressed knew ideals come from. I can understand I have lost friends and family to it.

What start this train of thought was people dump on (The Dark Empire)The mostly peace loving people of the USA I guess am just tried of it we where pulled into WW1 and WW2 and so-many say it was are fault. It makes me sick. Mostly this country wanted to be left out of wars. Just try to stay isolated from the rest of the world.

positives ... well war profiteers like bp and general electric make lots and lots of money for their shareholders. they might consider that a positive. i would say that technology is boon of the military industrial complex rather than war per se. things like the global positioning satellite and internet came about during relative peace or cold war, rather than from hot wars. active war tends to build up sectors of the economy rather than introduce new technology.

other interpretations of positives could be that the dominant society spreads its culture or influence. say for instance the hellenization of the old world by greece.

tara, you really don't know what you're saying...

have you seen orphans? have you've seen children crying because their parents was out there caught in a cross fire? have you seen people who lose their homes and hope? have you seen women repeatedly rape by militias (ok this i haven't seen yet)?

there are many bad things going on out there and USA is a blessed country since you guys are strategically positioned. The only thing you can do is give back.

I do understand what your saying and most that is third world. I should have just used WW11 because that what set allot of this off. Giving back hell I'm trying to figure out who these fools in Washington plane on paying back what we owe Hell were broke and people still do not have a clue. If the peaceful Muslim would keep check on the nut jobs we would not be in this mess now. There three war that i can remember where we were not provoked into them. Vietnam Korea and some peace keeping mission. most these people would still slaughtering off each other sad stupid. In away my father Marine GI bill and I made a living from the military machine He being and engineer mission to trident and other project. Me at 17 i enlisted army did my 3 year got out 20, went to schooling payed mostly by the army. at any given time 25 conflicts going on in this world and nothing good comes from that. To me if not for WW2 we may still be a third world country. Maybe it is best to shut this post down. I should have been more aware to others then i can walk out my door and get shoot by some crack head

Even so, the Cold War was an era of conflicting ideologies, information espionage, political sabotage, the space race. While greedy corporations indoctrinated the world with globalization, by selling unethical products behind the vale of utilitarianism.

And all these selfish exploitations were all outside the context of broken lives and communication blockade from loved ones. You may have only served in the Cold War, but I got to watch my grandfather suffered from not knowing his brother had passed away, while he couldn't even visit the relatives, all due to the isolation.

So what's this lack of understanding the Cold War that you speak of?
