I'm a mad Donnie Yen fan. After the retirement of Jet Li in martial arts movies, Donnie Yen's fame skyrocketed like never before. Not like he wasn't famous before, but the media attention was drawn to Donnie Yen. The movie itself did not have that much of a complex plot structure. Despite that Donnie Yen was able to produce top quality film and executed with such precision. The director chose Donnie Yen as Ip Man and much more impressed that it was choreographed by Sammo Hung. The two make such a phenomenal duo. It was very entertaining to watch except for the overused theme that has been done over countless times like Jet Li's Fearless (Referring to Ip Man 2).

The movie is on my Top 3 martial arts movie. Great plot! Lots to be learned from that movie.
