Most of his movies are very good. IP Man 1 & 2 tho are probably my favorite ones next to Dragons Tiger Gate.

I absolutely love Ip Man. Although the stories weren't 100% accurate (rarely any movies are 100%), it was still very interesting to see Lee's master. Of course, I had no idea who Ip Man was throughout the movie.. When in the ending it revealed pictures of him and Lee, my jaw dropped and I got so excited. Donnie Yen was also a perfect match as Yip, his calm face and everything fit right in.

Although I did like Ip Man 2, I don't think it was nearly as good as 1. The story is completely untrue after some research and it just seemed to follow many Chinese movie concepts of the invading white racist man and kicking his butt out of the country. The fighting, though, was awesome!

Small bit of trivia: Bruce was a world champion dancer, Lee promised to teach him how to dance in exchange for teaching him martial arts. Lee mastered the MA loooooong before Ip became even decent at dance XD

Another small bit of trivia... Ip Man was heavily addicted to opium.

You mean Ip Man: A Legend is Born? The kid's Wing Chun is better then Donnie Yen's, but I think the first one is the best movie of the three... It was more realistic than the second (though I DO love how over the top they did the second), but just an overall GOOD movie... Touching, heartfelt, and inspiring... you know?

Apparently Donnie Yen is going to do a Ip Man 3D; his last one. But there are two new Ip Man films out that are completely unrelated to the Donnie Yen series. One is called Grandmasters and I forget the other one name.

I believe there's already a Ip Man 3 ("The Legend Is Born", minus Donnie Yen. Though that may be the one you're referring to. Note sure.

The legend is born is a prequel so it doesnt count as a sequel to the first and second one. Ive never heard of anything about the 3d one, but i do hope it is true.

on another note, if you guys like donnie yens action movie, check out "flashpoint" its also on netflix. in that film donnie yen study MMA fighters and perform their techniques in the movie. personally i think its the best modern cop drama ive seen

I've seen it.. And yes, Donnie Yen is not in it... It's a prequel to before he became a Wing Chun master.. It's alright.. Not quite at the same level as the first two, but not terrible either. I suggest that you take it as a stand-alone movie and try not to relate it to the other two. That should help you not get too confused. Especially with the casting.

Looooove these films. The first had the story, the second had the action. Both were fantastic.
