big NO>>> NO>>>NO...... for me. i'm such a chicken head and cannot stand the sight of gore or blood itself even though in the back of my mind it's not real in the movies, but it still gets to me. ugh!!!....... no offense to japanese horror movies, but its just not for myself personally. i'll continue to stick with my k=dramas and animes. thanks CR for the heads up on this though. will make sure to let my sisters know about this cause they like to watch these types of movies, but just not my forte. thanks though.

Yay Audition... I have the dvd....Takashi Miike is awesome!! He's my favorite director. Tokyo Gore Police...it was ok. People who like Audition should check out Gozu.

I distinguish these as seperate genres: suspense, horror, gore. Of course there's overlap. Can anybody with experience say which of these is most likely the primary genre?

Since the last japanese horror movie I watch pleased me well, I may watch them without figuring out the genre first. But far too many suspense or gore focused movies have bored me. Though even the horror movie genre I'm not a great fan of either because they too have been failing to surprise me in recent releases. It's the horror genre for video games that I enjoy most.

I should stop getting excited by every second thing I see on the news reel. It always ends in "Sorry, no Australians thanks!"
