What's up guys,

The earth will rumble this summer as World Cup fever kicks off!
The best teams in the world will square off in a winner-take-all tournament to determine their country's superiority on the field. So what better way to kick off one of the largest sporting event in the world, then to release football-based anime (or soccer to the Americans): Giant Killing. The madness will kick off on Sunday, 5/23 at 8:30 am PDT.

It will be available to everyone in the following areas: United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland, Iceland and the Netherlands.

Here's a breakdown of what this show is all about:

"In Giant Killing a ragtag bunch from East Tokyo are struggling in Japan's top football league. The team is going through an abysmal spell right now where they are nearing the bottom of the table and have lost 5 matches in a row. The loses haven't done much to team moral, because it was already low. Fan support, on the other hand, is looking bleak. In the world of football, once the fans turn on a team the end is near. Teams don't recover. Coaches are fired, players are sold, and teams drop to smaller divisions where profits often prevent them from ever being successful against even mediocre top division programs. East Tokyo United, ETU, can only blame their coach right now. And Coach is ready to give up this next game to prove to his team and fans, that against the biggest club in the nation he can make this team win."

Will ETU be able to stand on its own and make a name for itself as an elite football club? Or will they fall under the pressure? And for that matter, who will win this year's World Cup? Will Italy repeat as the world champions, or will another country rise and dominant the playing field? Remember the last time any team record back-to-back wins was Brazil back in 1958 and 1962, so it's anyone's game now!

What a surprise, reading this kinda shook me! I myself am a very big soccer fan, and can't wait for the opening ceremony game in South Africa! Adding this series was a very good idea, thanks for the providing us with such a great sport's anime for us viewers. Can't wait for Giant Killing to be simulcast on Crunchyroll.
