Wait, what?

Who "swoons" for a British accent?
Americans?
No.
Or at least not this American, and certainly none of the ones I know.

I think accents are cool (& cute) and whenever I hear someone who has an accent, I automatically light up because it's something I haven't seen in a long time. ^-^

Received Pronunciation, what is commonly referred to as 'The Queen's English'. It is the accent that most Americans generally associate with Britain.

I've never heard the term 'received pronunciation' before :)
And I guess the accent leads people to think the people with that accent are polite, trustworthy and all that.

Can't really imagine someone coming up to you and saying in a posh accent "Good day old chap, I'm now going to mug you."

Agreed.

Being from the south I have a somewhat..."Country Accent" and that's all I have ever heard.
Now, I know some girls around here fall for guys with British and or foreign accents....but that's usually on a rare occasion when their drunk. xD

I mean I'd understand if he likes the RP or English accent since they sound more distinguished and elegant (yes i like the English accent lol), but why he likes Auusie accent i have no idea lol....is the Australian accent considered RP as well?

I love the Australian accent. I would literally do anything if it was asked in an Aussie accent. It just sounds so good I can't help it.

Personally I have a country accent and the only places people like it is in big cities in the north like new york. Everywhere else they find it annoying

bahahahah...i dont mind it...i have a frend who moved here from texas :)...and i find that i slip into that accent ifim talking to her LOL

Most people do for some reason. The Texas 'country' accent is very contagious.

Every time I watch a show and the host is talking to someone with a southern accent all of a sudden the host has the accent too lol

I love an Australian accent on a woman. It doesn't need to a "proper or elegant" accent for an american to love just hearing it. Some like the Scottish or Irish accent lovers, but I'm an aussie man all the way!

I'm from the south Houston area and I only notice the accents of both east and west Texas.

There are many types of English accent. The best are London (not Cockney) and North English accents. Of course Irish is always a winner, very sexy.

Because the way other countries speak English is so interesting! Just the way the pronunciations come out are really weird. XD I like British accents, but not to the extent where it sounds like they have a mouthful of marbles.
