I really don't care about answering questions such as favourite characters, best ending etc, so I'll just rank all 2010 animes I've seen. I'm only ranking TV series that are 20+ minutes per episode.

The list is still subject to change as not all have finished airing yet, but currently it's:

The only thing I can say for now is that the best opening song was from the first episode of the new season of Sora no Otoshimono. The rest will have to wait until the season is over.

To be honest, I was going to say Fairy Tale, but I forgot it started at the end of 2009. In my opinion, there really wasn't any anime that really stood out for 2010 that left a impression. There were some good anime titles this year, that I enjoyed, like Mutsudomoe, DuraDura, exc, the list goes on, and were good for the genres, but nothing that joined the ranks of some the best in their category like rumbling hearts, bebop, code geass, school days, exc, whichever genre you are considering as some of the best anime for the specific genre.

There wasn't anything that really stood out from one another; however, I dont understand why Angel Beat's is so popular, I thought it was decent but nothing special. It seems though a lot of people really loved it. i thought 11eyes from 2009, which had a similiar plot in the sense of a "alternate world" was much better, and had a much more original plot and storyline, but with the lack of good animes this year(in my opinion), I can see why that might be the case. Angel Beats had really good characters in my opinion and a decent storyline.

Getting back on point: Best Anime of 2010 for me? Mitsudome for (comedy genre) There were some good animes like I said this year, nothing special this year, but if I had to pick what I enjoyed the most from this year's lineup, i'd have to go with Mitsudome. (Yet it doesn't even crack my top 50 anime favorites)

Easier for me to rate my top three letdowns of the year:

1: Ichiban No daimaou (Way too rushed, started off rather good)
2: Dance in the vampire bund (Looked really promising, didn't meet expectations, but was decent)
3: Fortune Alterial (Throwing in a vampire theme does not make a repetitve overplayed storyline interesting. Still ongoing.)

I don't entirely disagree with you, but I also feel that you haven't seen some of the better animes from 2010. I don't have any way to know what you've actually seen, but I do believe my top 6 (a couple of posts up) were good enough to break into my top 35 animes, and are worth checking out if you haven't yet (though House of Five Leaves is more of a niche title for fans of slow paced animes). There are also a couple of other titles I ranked lower that I'd consider to be quality animes, but didn't really fit my tastes too.

Also, nice work on misspelling 3 anime titles.

To be honset, I don't really care to look up anime titles, as long as you know what anime I am addresing--it doesn't really matter. As for what animes I have seen, I have seen almost every new anime release of 2010. Although, this doesn't mean I watched them all through; for example, I watched two episodes of Tantei Opera Milky Holmes and decided it's not for me. As for your list, I think I have seen about 90%, it seems a few missed me like your number 1 choice House of Five leaves, i'll have to check it out. I think I read about the anime, and decided to skip it. I did love Rainbow, it was a rather good anime, but for the genre, nothing that was incredible. Most of your other choices I agree were good animes, but nothing that was exceptional in my opinion.

The reason why none of it cracks my top 50 is simply due to tastes. There was nothing that really played to those tastes, and even in mainstream genres like drama, comedy, there were some decent anime that I enjoyed--but nothing that compared to stuff already out in the market. Everyone's is different. One of my favoriate animes, for example, Claymore (Top five) a lot of anime fans would consider average, or Berserk, but to me they are top 5 favoriate animes. I rate genres I enjoy the most over other genres so a top 5 anime listing in a genre, might be over a top 1 listing in a lesser enjoyed genre.

A example: My favorite Ecchi anime: Queen's Blade, which would be #1 for Ecchi anime, would be under my top 10 favoriate animes in "adventure", which is one of my favorite genres to watch.

++Also, I took a detailed look at your top 35 list: Major s6 and Giant Killer, I don't watch due to not really being a fan of any sports anime. Star's driver I skipped, but I might give it another go. I agree every anime you listed was good, not in that order (Due to personal tastes of what I enjoy over others) with the exception of your number 2, which I found good, but suprising you would rate it that high. Also re-considering, I think there are maybe 2-3 animes this year that might crack my top 50, if not, they atleast cracked my top 100. Keep in mind though, most people have seen less then 50 animes in their life time. I have seen over 1000, for over 10 years, so I have a much broader range.

Edit: This has kind of gone slightly off topic, so I'll just add my reply here.

That would make much more sense then, as judging by the examples you listed I'd assumed you were only at around 200 series. Personally I'm at about 300 TV series, so your top 50 is probably comparable to my top 25 or so.

Without any real like for sports animes, skipping Major is probably the right thing to do as it's quite typical, but I would still recommend you to at least try a couple of episodes of Giant Killing as it takes a different approach. I can't really say if you'll like Star Driver or not, it's receiving a lot of hate but there are also some people finding it really enjoyable like me. I completely agree with your reasoning on Cobra and Legend of the Legendary Heroes in the below post, hence my lower rankings. From my non top-35, the only one that sounds like it may slightly appeal to you is Shin Koihime Musou, which you've probably already seen and despite being enjoyable, it wasn't all that good...

@AsuraCryin (below post), Shiki is definitely entertaining and suspenseful, but the story itself is extremely weak.

You made a post while I made a edit.

Cobra was alright, but as I said nothing great. Legend of the Legendary Hero's was actually one of my favorites this year, simply because I enjoy anime's like this, but they focused way too much on certain parts of the storyline, and at times made it confusing, they should of took a different approach with it. I mean Legend of the Legendary Hero's can't even compare to something like Black Cat, Scrapped Princess, exc... or even Queen's blade, a ecchi/adventure anime. Let alone some of my favorites in the genre like Claymore, Berserk, exc. Yojou-han doesn't ring a bell, i'll have to look up, and Giant Killer, as I said doesn't really fit with me. The only sports anime that I have ever enjoyed was animes based around non-realistic sports like old school Air Gear, which I liked because of it's originality.

Yojou-han is a very hard anime to explain. It's confusing. According to another user, it's basically similar to the "Endless Eight". The episodes are basically repeated, but with more major differences. I enjoyed it because it made me think. And each episode makes you connect/refer to past episodes, and eventually you'll see how it all connects. It was well done, and gave me a surprised. It's hard to enjoy if you hate repetitive scenes.

Regarding The Legend Of The Legendary Heroes, it was rather... "average". I enjoy watching it and it has some decent action.

The anime that stood out the most to me this year was Shiki. It is suspenseful and makes you (or me at least) want to watch the very next episode.
