Well it's obvious a lot of males out there do such, or else the term "cougar" would never have come to be. Plus consider the sheer number cougar sites out there says such things are alive and well.

What is wrong with dating someone older than you? Girls do it all the time.. no reason why guys can't.

One or two years is not really much of a gap

I've done it before. I've liked women ten years older or more than me. Never found anything criminal about it.

Doesn't matter. I was typically older than some of my bfs in high school. The most age difference was 2years and 10 months between me and the guy. Now I seem to be finding more guys closer to my age or a few years older that I'm interested in.

I think older women are more desirable than most woman closer to my age. Compared to women in their 20s or younger, women in their 30s or older are more well planted financially and more mentally mature. They have seen and faced adversities that younger women have yet to and are generally more knowledgeable in the art of love...unless they're still virgins...

There's nothing wrong with dating a little older or younger if you know your limits. Older women might be more expectant of males to behave in predictable ways though, because they generally have more experience. Also, older women seem to seek maturity in a carefree package, rather than a carefully organized person, mostly because it shows that someone can have fun and be an adult simultaneously. However, don't think that just because you're put together, that she'll lose interest, just find a way to be fun and carefree too...you can.

Do you know what she likes, or what you might have in common with her? I wouldn't hesitate to break the ice with her, but don't be too nervous about what you need to say. Just be yourself, and make friends first. Once you're friendly, you can drop clues of interest and intrigue all you'd like. It's more or less about getting her interested in you, instead of the other way around, because you already are, you see? And if you weren't interested, why would you have to be all careful about what you did anyways? You wouldn't care in the slightest about that. Don't let on that you're intimidated by the age difference, that's like silently calling her old...and it won't help you. If anything, you can say that you're a bit nervous about the fact that she's a little older than you and you might not see eye to eye...if anything, that kind of honestly will have her thinking that you're cute to mention it.

It's most like along the line of: "Don't worry, I'll have you know, I won't bite. I promise," in her monologue or actual response (bonus points if she actually laughs that off and says something like this, you've come off slightly shy but charming in a way). That should generate more interest than silence, don't you think? Unless she seems to like calm, be as talkative as you need to...no need to clam up! If you're quite interested, express interest, but don't go right for the romantic angle. Interpret her body language and tone as best you can, and you'll be able to tell in no time whether or not you're coming off on the right foot or not. Best of all, you know you can do this...it's true. You took the first step. The confidence to even approach a person directly nets you more points with them than you could imagine. It's amazing.

I don't know what others have said, but follow your thoughts and don't do anything hasty. Have fun with it.

It think the younger you are the more unusual it is and maybe even socially awkward but the older you get the less age difference has to do with it.
