Pollution in China has gotten even worse during the past few years. It's so bad that you can barely see the sun. The air is hard to breathe and many people are wearing masks. If this continues what will happen to China in the future?? What about pollution in general, anyone else worried??

this seems like a ed topic
i have been to china and have known first hand of its dangers,

If it's getting better....what'd happen after the olympics? It would return to normal and get worse....The main problem for this pollution I think is that chinese people don't really care about it and don't take is seriously. I am chinese so I'm not racist here.

I actually don't think the pollution is bad as you say it is. After all, China is getting ready for the 2008 Olympics, Beijing; from what i have heard, have improved A LOT.

as for the other cities, they're also not bad to the point where you can't see the sun and breath out "black things". Though yes, pollution is a HUGE problem in China.

Personally, I'm Chinese. I came to Canada Five years ago. From what I remember as a child; the pollution problem was pretty...Bad comparing to North america, the river that run across the city (guan zhou) was filled with garbage, and other side rivers was filled with black..muddy things...and there was garbage every where.

but recently my mom told me China have improved (at least where we lived; its one of the biggest cities in china) mainly because of the Olympics and what not.

anyhow, my point is: China is not bad as you say it is. You ARE able to see the sun and moon clearly -__-; lol.

Beijings pollution is bad not only because of population, but it's also inland with moutains nearby so the pollution stays trapped over the city. Shanghai would be worse off than Beijing if it had a similar location.

The US has pretty bad light pollution though. You need to get away from the cities to really see the stars at night.

The pollution in china far eclipses that of the United States. They have a new coal power plant go up ever 10 DAYS. Sadly we don't hear how bad it is because of China's government. I had the luxury to two weeks there this last spring. when I came back I had to be admitted to a hospital my sinus infection was so bad. When I have a chance I will go back there a BURN THE PYUU ZHOU HOTEL TO THE GROUND.

PS: these are my pic's so please don't use them with out permission.
