Ichigo/Ulquiorra Fight Spoilers

I dont know the exact definition of a VS thread but im not comparing the two...I just want to know if people liked how it happened...or wanted a diff scenario to have occured...or something else. Just wondering what everyones take on the fight was. This is basically a thread for how you think the fight should have turned out...what scenario do you think should have happened...or maybe you liked it just the way it happened....regardless.....post the reason why you believe that. Heres my take on it. I also think this needs to be mentioned cuz of these are how fights r gona be like in Bleach in the near future....well I dont wanna know. But if this is somehow a VS thread....then lock it

I Discussed this very thing with a coworker yesterday. I believe that Ichigo's power jumps are due to Ichigo's wish to protect his friends. As we learned in the manga that the Hougyouku grants wishes at the Hougyouku's own discression. Like Aisen explaned you cannot force the Hougyouku to do anything, you have to submit to it, and it may grant your wish (if it chooses to). Chad and Orihime's powers only came about when they cursed their own powerlessness at the time when Rukia still had the Hougyouku within her, so it granted their powers too. Ichigo's wish was to have the power to protect his friends. In my opinion that once the wish was granted it works in perpetuity without any further aid from the Hougyouku. Every time one of his friends was in danger (all the time) and it's usually Rukia or Orihime. Every time his friends were in mortal danger his powers jumped to the next level. Now suppose that his Shinigami powers were topped once he got his bankai, so the next conceivable power jump was to tap into his inner hollow. Aisen had a hand in making the Vizards, but no direct influence in Ichigo's hollow evolution. It's in my opinion that if Orihime and sewing buddy didn't show up on the roof top then I believe that Ichigo would've died with no one else in immediate danger. One other thing, I believe this may be the case as when Ichigo first got his mask and couldn't break the 11 second barrier for a very long time. He gets into Hueco Mundo and once a friend is in danger he can keep the mask on much longer.

I used to think Orihime's rejection power helped him power up when she healed him, but she wasn't involved in every power up, so I'm thinking this is not likely anymore.

Well i havent read the manga so that whole Hougyouko thing with wishes was news to me.....but when you put it that way,......it makes sense. I just really hate it when an anime character gets a random power up (Though I guess its not so random anymore since you explained it) out of nowhere. Its like Level of Emotion=Power in all animes. But hey...if he gets powered up due to a reason like the Hougyouko....then I guess it works for me. But damn.....I cant believe hes...hes..... Damn....just damn

Damn Indeed. That was the whole power of the Hougyouko. You can't make it bend to your will (it will reject you). You can only have your heart set on power and how you'd like to see it happen then it just might give it to you. In Aisen's case he wanted to bond to the Hougyouku allowing a transformation of some kind.

I thought it was awesome that Ichigo got that form in the last ep, but this ep was pretty shitty.
Ulqs looked like a leaf when Ichigo dropped him on the sand in the last ep Horrible drawing on that part.

I read that fight in the manga and it was... AWESOME. *o* i'm gonna watch the anime in just a sec.
