Please develop an app. so driod users can watch videos. I love crunchyroll and like many others I don't like the apple products. There are alot of us out there whom would love to be able to watch endless anime on our phones.
thank you soooooo much |

Android 2.2 (which has started to be released to Nexus One) supports full flash 10.1 (which is in beta for many operating systems) should for all phones (that will get 2.2) make Crunchyroll work with only minor optimization of the flash for 10.1 and mobile. Hopefully when we get 10.1 support fully added to Crunchyroll it will also be compatible with mobile devices that can run flash 10.1

I have a Samsung Moment and it took 5 months for 2.1 to be released on it (from 1.5). I do not have faith that 2.2 will be released on this phone any time soon, plus I hear that Flash 10.1 requires an ARMv7 based processor and Samsung Moment is ARMv6. So I personally will be better off getting something like the HTC Evo to ensure I have a phone that will be upgraded in a timely fashion and will fully support Flash 10.1.
For older phones (probably just from 2009) I think there's going to be Flash Lite support or non-optimized Flash10.1 support. An Android app would most likely be very useful for these people. |

I can say as an N1 user I can stream just fine with flash 10.1. I do bump down to lowers instead of SD (sub h.264 in URL with lowres) but I am glad to hear an app may be in the works.

http://www.crunchyroll.com/forumtopic-648332/droid-phone/ -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Just got an HTC Evo, haxxored it to get root access and put Android 2.2 on it with Adobe Flash 10.1. The video playback seems good but there is some stuttering which I think is caused by the soft-subtitles and it seems to seriously drain the battery. We're going to be hardsubbing videos for the iPhone so we'll probably be able to use the same hardsubbed videos for other mobile devices like Android . All in all it seems to be pretty good as long as you keep it plugged in. The mobile site isn't complete yet but you can try it out here: http://m.crunchyroll.com/ |

I've had mixed experiences with my girlfriends Samsung Moment that has Android 2.1 on it and the Skyfire browser.
Before the mobile site was available, it would play fine sometimes but other times it would crash the whole OS and the device would restart. Right before it restarted there would be a loud popping noise that came from the back of the device so I didn't try it out too many times. Testing Skyfire on the mobile site, I see that it has some issues but works fine for the most part and is definitely worthwhile for people on Android 2.1 and lower Advantages:

It seems I am unable to watch the most current videos with Skyfire. It will allow me to watch it until a screen comes up asking me to join the site or login.
This is only on the mobile site. Using Skyfire going to the normal site I only get a message telling me to update to the most current version of flash. This happens even though it says I am logged in. Any updates on when we will get an app for android. I am using the EVO with 2.1. |
