The "Sorry, this video cannot be played" error is a generic Android video player error. It's something that Android's development team needs to fix.

Not sure if or when we will support Archos devices since I think we would have to re-encode all of our videos for it to work on their devices.

The app on the wifi only Xoom is crashing in beacon.java which seems to be part of securestudies from Full Circle Studies. Not sure if that info helps… Do the app developers get crash reports that users submit on Android?

The Crunchyroll app on my Android still does not work when it's on wi-fi mode. Although I updated it to the recent version today, I still haven't been able to log in using wi-fi. Yet, while in 3G mode, it works perfectly. This also includes the free videos that I could watch without a membership, but instead of giving me the ep. it says I have to sign up for an Anime or All-Access account.

I also tried tripperdan99's suggestion of Force Closing/Clear Data and reinstalling, but it did not work for me ><. The Android I'm currently using is the Samsung Captivate from AT&T.

Okay, where to begin.....


Sorry to mention this again but there are still episodes missing that need to be encoded for the android app, ones that should have been ready when the app was launched. Mitsudomoe seasons(FULL) 1 and 2 are both not there, La Corda D' Oro primo passo(FULL) isn't there, EP 34 from Hanasakeru Seishonen, EP 29 from Yumiero Patissiere, Episodes 11, 12, and 13 from Miracle Train, EP 3 from Best Student Council, and I am sure there are plenty more from animes I haven't been trying to watch.

Also: I wouldn't mind trying to watch 07 Ghost, but that isn't even an option on the android app, lol. Please get those for me <3 It looks like it would be a good anime.


I have been trying to watch Yumiero Patissiere. I love it, it is one of my favorite animes of all time. Problem is, I cant seem to watch some of the episodes because although I am a paying premium member it is telling me I need an all access or anime membership to watch the episodes. Considering that these episodes should be available for free members anyway I believe this is a problem. Please note that this is only affecting Yumiero Patissiere episodes, not the Yumiero Patissiere Professional episodes.

I have tried logging out and logging in, that didn't work. I tried force stopping, clearing the data, uninstalling and reinstalling and relogging in, and that also failed.

I am using a Motorola Droid from Verizon, Android version 2.2.2. And since I just reinstalled it in attempts to fix the problem my app reads as version 0.3.3

@AoiKaze: What version of Android do you have on your Samsung Captivate? Could be the same issue that people are having with the Xoom.

@harvestmoonperso: We no longer have the right to offer the first season of Yumeiro Patissiere here as of April 1st. As such, those were no longer supposed to show up so I fixed it.

I also fixed 07 Ghost so that should show up shortly.

As for the missing episodes, we are going to be focusing on adding those this month. We should finish up by the end of this month.

Just a quick question, did you Uninstall the program after force closing/clearing data? Uninstall was part of the purge process.

Sorry to hear that you're having such challenges and I hope you're able to get them cleared up soon. Just hate it when someone can't get to their anime when they need to!!

I have an original droid. I've been having trouble logging in. It keeps telling me wrong password/login name, even thou previously it logged in. I'm having this problem off and on. After reading some of the posts, I force closed and uninstalled then reinstalled. Again the same problem happened. I was able to go out of the app and use the browser to log into Crunchyroll so I knew that my password/name was correct. I then read something about where you were having trouble with wifi. I went into my phone settings and disabled wifi and only used my 3g and I was then able to log in. My problem is that I don't always get a good connection with my provider as I live in the mountains. I prefer logging into my home network and using that wifi so I have a more stable connection. Only if I have a good connection do I get a good playback. Without it it, the shows stutter or are unplayable.

Big B, another question to throw at ya' ....

When is the "Featured" Anime list going to get updated? Only one or two of the new series is on there, for the others we have to click on the Main Anime list to see Astarotte's Toy, Battle Girls, Hanasaku Iroha, and all the others.

Just wondering because some titles need to be swapped around.

PS wish I had some ideas on why the wifi aspect is failing. I've not tried it myself, so I plan to see if I can replicate the same error other users are getting.

Speaking of Astarotte's Toy... no matter how many times I refresh the list it won't show me EP 1. Has this been encoded for the android app yet? I am trying to be bad and watch this at work lol

Any news on the App working on Android 3.x ? The app installs fine on my Xoom (Wi-fi only), but crashes on startup.

"The application Crunchyroll (process com.crunchyroll.crunchyroid) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again."
