Well, it's been a while since I last posted here. Was very ecstatic to see the new update to the Crunchyroll App on Android. Hoped this would resolve the Wi-fi issues that the App has on my Samsung Captivate, so I did a clean install (Clear Data & Cache before Uninstalling, then installed the App anew.) . Sadly though, I still cannot log-in or watch any videos while using Wi-fi on my Android...Yes, 3G still works and I can log in and watch videos while using that, but I prefer the faster download speeds that Wi-fi provides. I even tried logging in with 3G, and switching it to Wi-fi...but it gives me the "You need to have an Anime Membership" popup when I access a video...
and I am a Anime Member. @.@

Reading this forum, I know I'm not the only one with this issue...and aside from a couple of users who kindly tried to help me and the others regarding this issue, I have yet to see a support admin at the very least acknowledge this issue when I first asked about it back in March. ><;

I am using a Samsung Captivate, with Android 2.2 installed (Froyo)...maybe this time I could get a could get an answer or two...*sigh*

I'm having issues with the app. It worked perfectly fine until I reset my phone. Now I can't watch anything. The list never refreshes so no serious every pop up... I payed for the membership just for the app. I've reset my phone installed and reinstalled the app but nothing. What do I do?

running into issues where some anime just won't play , I just get the screen to "join" or "no thanks" and I already have a membership.

I can switch to a different anime and watch any episodes so it's not across the board behavior. It seems that the check for membership when launching the video is failing somehow.



Should have added at least one of the shows this happens with ..

Asura Cryin' all episodes...

I seem to recall this issue popping up when the video in question has an age restriction (which I wouldn't think would be the case with Asure Cryin'), and no age information is listed in your profile.

here a idea for the android app not sure if possible i got it from ipod version. could we get a browse by season and genre and a recently added , most popular button on the android app? in both the anime and drama

AoiKaze I feel your pain, but mine also dose it on 3G. I did manage to log on today on my 3G though but it it so slow were I live that it was hardly worth it! :-)

I'm having this problem, too. Tried starting Asura Cryin' from ep1 last night and it just tells me I need a membership... which I have. Watching in the browser works. And for the one person who actually replied to this -- I do have age information in my profile. *shrug*

I've gotten it on a couple of shows as well. Don't remember which ones, though the new episode of steins;gate is doing it for me.

If you try to watch a video that is not encoded for playback through our Android app, it erroneously asks you to upgrade to watch it. You should ignore this message for now but we will have this fixed.

The latest releases on our site are made available through our various apps up to 7 hours after their release on the site due to technical reasons.

Then there are the very small percentage of videos like Asura Cryin which simply have no been encoded for Android since we are still in the process of manually encoding these. Episodes 1-9 should be available soon but I currently don't have a timeline for when episodes 10-13. For now, I would suggest watching these videos through our site.

I tried searching for the CR app in the android marketplace per the directions on the website, but it isn't there... also tried scanning the barcode to get to the link but "Item could not be found." anyone know what this means, and what do I have to do to fix it?

Your device needs Android 2.1 or higher in order for our app to show up in the Android Marketplace. Lower versions of Android are not compatible with our app.

I'm running version 0.3.9 on EVO 4G (2.3.3)

The app works for me just fine.

What I'd like to see in the App is the ability to view my favorites and watch list. Also it would be nice to be able to search.

I just got the update, and now I episode lists for both anime and dramas aren't loading. A number of other reviewers on the marketplace are saying the same thing about it. I'm trying not to be irritated by this, but I was really looking forward to some new episodes tonight, and using my droid's browser doesn't quite give me the same quality.

I got the update last night. The episode list won't display in landscape mode (but the videos do play in landscape mode) on my Xoom (android 3.2, official rom/kernel). And it crashed so often that it took me an hour to watch MAYBE 35 minutes of video until I finally got tired of the constant crashes.
