I'm currently having annyoing problem. Okay so, my phone is HTC Wild Fire (like previously), and when I try to watch like, 2 weeks older videos, it just goes back to the episode information screen. This happens even with the newest episodes + with all my episodes I have in my app.
D: I can't watch any anime from it know, uguu. Does anybody know solution for this?
Oh yeah, forgot: my application version is currently 0.5.5.

Could Crunchyroll add an offline caching function with the ability to select which episodes to cache? Thanks.

Updated to the newest app version, and like many others over the past couple days, I am no longer able to watch videos. It will go to the black screen after i hit play, as if it is loading the video, then after a few seconds will go back to the episode info page. I checked other apps to see if it was a network problem, but no problem with other video streaming app like youtube. HTC

The app itself if getting a lot of negative reviews right now with this issue too, I don't want to see that happen, it has always been a great app which I still recommend to everyone. So hopefully it will be fixed soon!

How do I browse anime in landscape mode? When I'm done watching an episode, it's kind of annoying to have to rotate my phone to navigate. Thanks.

The new 0.5.6 android app update still didn't do anything to fix the video playback problem on my HTC wildfire..

Seems to me that the app doesnt quite support HTCs, seeing the previous posts n all..

Please fix so I can watch my animes I would love this app so much if it works again

It did use work and play videos before the 0.5.5 update

I am doing the free trial right now and am considering getting the yearly subscription. The one thing stopping me is that I seem to be using about 170MB of data to watch one episode on my android. I am using version 0.5.6 of the app.

Is there anyway for me to lower this at all, such as lowering the quality of video to reduce the data usage? I only get 4GB of data a month so I wouldn't be able to watch many episodes. I mainly want the premium subscription so I can stream on my phone. I have a verizon Pantech Breakout, so I stream over 4G.

Is anyone else using this much data to watch an episode?

I have a data cap too. I don't know how big an average video is but as far as I can tell there is only one quality setting. The quality of the videos are currently too low for my liking already. That's why I asked if there are plans on adding an offline caching feature. It would be nice to select specific episodes to cache and have them download at home while on WiFi. Obviously, the cached videos would have to be encrypted to make the media companies happy. This is probably the only reason I won't be continuing my membership after the trial.

The video quality to me is actually really good for my phone. At least compared to most other videos I stream randomly from other sites. But I'm not much a videophile.

I wouldn't mind being able to cache them either, but that seems like asking a lot now. I just want to be able to watch more than 10 episodes a month on my phone without using up most of my data.

It has been mentioned before that Crunchyroll would actually need different licensing from the licensors of anime to be able to do this.

As you might expect, they wouldn't do this for free, and there would be a significant cost in re-negotiating the contracts for all the existing titles, coupled with the fact that some licensors could simply say, "No".

Are you just referring to the cache idea? I don't really care about it and it wouldn't effect whether I would pay for a premium membership.

What about a lower quality video so that it doesn't take 170MB of data to view one episode? This is going to effect whether I pay for a premium membership more than anything as it's the main reason why I would want it.

If they can license future or some of the future and past content with rights that allow for offline caching on mobile devices then I'd pay the membership. I just can't justify the membership because of my data cap and sometimes spotty coverage.

I guess it's up to the people at Crunchyroll whether or not it's worth the investment to do this. If not enough people want to pay for this feature then I guess I'm out of luck.

Well, I put in the request and my reasons. I'll just hope for the best.
