On my Samsung Galaxy S3 (Stock ROM, CM9, and CM10 builds), videos generally play fine, but periodically the video seems to freeze on a frame, and I can barely make out what is going on (it's as if most of the pixels aren't updating) - then 5-10 seconds later, it self-resolves. I don't recall having this problem until the 0.7.x releases. Other than this (and the short period in which 0.7.3 couldn't play video, now working), the application works well enough.

I haven't watched a complete video on 0.7.3 yet, so perhaps this release resolved the issue. I'll report back tomorrow if not. Is there a place where detailed bug fixes/changes are listed? I only see the summary version through the play store, and it doesn't specify what the actual changes/fixes were.

Still an issue with 0.7.3. I grabbed a screenshot to help illustrate the issue. Shrank image for the forum but you get the idea.

For those with errors on 0.7.3, I made the previous version available for download. My tablet showed the same error, luckily my phone's version hadn't updated.

I had the same problem last night when I tried watching some on my tablet before bed. I don't recall it ever doing that before until I used 0.7.3, maybe they'll fix it soon.

The previous version was bug-ish, mostly with unresponsive videos on a rare occasion, but I still managed to watch alot of anime series nevertheless. The new crunchyroll app, which is completely "revamped", is unstable, wont even load the anime selection screen, which renders the app useless. Also the newest version, which FYI only worsens the situation, says that it's incompatible with my phone, the LGE LG-P350. So far, this app is nothing but a dissapointment. Hopefully, somebody will try and stabilize the app so it actually works, would appreciate it.

I agree with you. I own both an iPad and an android tablet and I have to say that the iPad app is way better than the android app. The good thing is that the app usually gets constant updates with bug fixes and such. Oh, and is it just me or are the videos in SD? They never really look as sharp as when I'm playing them on my computer in 720 HD.

Crunchyroll has yet to offer HD streams on any app except the Boxee (which uses the same Flash stream as a web browser).

It has been indicated they are looking to come up with an encoding scheme that is compatible across multiple devices, otherwise HD could be a long time in coming to many of them.

On my GoogleTV hooked up to my 1080P TV it looks great; if that is just standard Def, then they are doing a great job with it.

My issue still goes unanswered. I tried to make a separate thread about it, but apparently that is frowned upon...
I have re-submitted a ticket for the issue that I'm having:
"device is not compatible with the application"
but I still do not have an answer.
What is going on?
Are all old android devices being left by the way side? Is this pertinent? Is this a glitch?
Is there a list of "compatible" android devices?

will anyone answer this question?

What device are you using and what version of Android is it running? There seems to be a bug with the app running on Gingerbread. BazouKazuma posted in another thread that the CR is looking into why the app is not working for Gingerbread users, that was only yesterday so they need time to fix the bug and then get the app update and approved by Google.

Also, starting a new thread is not really frowned upon, it is just not recommended as the fastest way to get your problem answered. The best way to make sure that your problem is brought to CR's attention is by using their Contact Us page as they get a notification and it is one place for them to check rather than someone having to read through the forums trying to find problems.

The next best method if the problem is not something that you need an answer to quickly is to post about it in the appropriate stickied thread. iOS problems go in the iOS thread, Android problems into the Android thread, ect... Bjaker and Bazoukazum check all of the threads but not as frequently as they check the inbox for the Contact Us page.

Hopefully this helps clarify why using the Contact Us page and sticking with the designated threads are the preferred methods instead of having to read through all of the new threads posted each day.

Alrighty, I've been using the app for a while now, and think I've got enough to actually give meaningful feedback.

First of all I'm running a Droid 4, just upgraded to ICS (another reason I was holding off, I knew that update was coming). FIRST time you start up the app, it just starts "loading", goes to a blank screen, and sits there. Closing and reopening the app gets me to the menu screen (yay!). The same behavior happened pre-ics.

About 50% of the time trying to start a video works normally, the rest of the time it goes to an infinite "loading" screen. Closing the app, waiting about 10 minutes, and then pulling up the video usually works. At the end of an episode, it goes to an extended "loading" screen, and then restarts the same video. This was only post ics, HOWEVER the app updated about the same time so I have no idea if this is a result of ics or the app.

Pulling up a SECOND video after you watch one ALWAYS gives you the infinite loading screen. Again, closing, waiting 10 minutes, and restarting seems to fix this as well.

That being said, I'm using a microHDMI from the phone to the TV, and LOVING it!

Got a notification that there is an update available on my Google TV(Logitech Review) but when I tried to update I get a not compatible message? The old app still works but if I get a new device or have to factory reset I loose the app. This is pretty much the only place i watch so when is this going to be "compatible" again?? Is the old APK going to be made available if you plan on not fixing this new version to work on GTV?

I've responded to both of your Support Requests and it has bounced each time.

I sent you a PM yesterday asking for an email address where I can send you the APK for the old app.

Please PM me a working email address so I can send you the old APK.
