In the image you posted, I can even see the darker black that makes up the length of the timeline.

It sounds as if your device is crushing the blacks, which sadly wouldn't be uncommon in a mobile device. Worse, I don't believe many mobile devices support screen color calibration, leaving you stuck with what the manufacturer ships.

Perhaps CR should take this into account and shift the background of the controls to a lighter shade of grey or higher transparency level.

oh ok.... it never happened to me for a long time. I just launched the app and it would close. I'd give you a screenshot but I don't have my tablet on hand. it says something along the lines of " Crunchyroll is unexpectingly closing down."" would you like to report?"

I'm having the same problem. I'm on a GS3 (Galaxy SIII) And I've uninstalled and re-installed. App opens when trying to go to Anime, or Queue i get a black screen for a few seconds then it terminates. I've sent a report in, this just started happening a few days ago out of nowhere. I was watching videos last week didn't watch any over the weekend tried Sunday night and I noticed it.

It's ok now. I was using my nexus 7 with cm10 jb..Since it was a nightly I don't think all the bugs were fixed. I I flashed an earlier version of cm10 and the CR app seems to work fine. plus I checked it out with galaxy tab 2 with cm9 on it and it works fine. it was just a Rom issue on my end. for some reason I was thinking it was a app issue with a apk update or something, but so I checked out the software. And realized it was all on my end. sorry for the inconvenience.

I've been having this issue since yesterday as well. (Been using email support to talk with Bjaker)

The app started working for me again tonight without any changes on my end. It was doing the same thing as you (crashing after it opens). It may not have actually been the ROM you were running.

I got a system update to my phone just now, and it actually fixed the problem. Unless you guys modified your services. Either way its fixed!

Did you happen to watch the Crunchyroll PS3 giveaway contest video? The one that requires you to make a video of yourself doing something crazy to show your love of Crunchyroll?

The CR engineers found that since I had watched that video (and presumably it was showing up in my history), it was causing the app to crash upon opening.
