Really. well then. I can probably re flash my nightly so I can continue my work

Did you happen to watch the Crunchyroll PS3 giveaway contest video? The one that requires you to make a video of yourself doing something crazy to show your love of Crunchyroll?

The CR engineers found that since I had watched that video (and presumably it was showing up in my history), it was causing the app to crash upon opening.

You're on target cause I did watch it and that's about the time it crashed on me too

My internet speed is fine, 25 down 7 up.
The quality in some moving images are absolutely horrid now, I'm not sure why. Samsung Galaxy S2 LTE.

I'd say all of Sword Art Online's first opening. (As in the 1:30 minute opening song + video section.)

Can you give me a specific episode and the time the opening starts?

(currently watching ep 1 but I don't remember if it actually shows the opening)

For example (randomly chosen) episode 10, opening starts at 1:37. Towards the latter part of the opening, the quality drops significantly in the moving images.

Actually, I've got an even better example. My Little Monster openings, for example episode 3 at around 2:30 the image is absolutely terrible.

And here's a screenshot of the regular resolution

That, pretty much.

I haven't seen it as bad as ashiun's, but there are compression artifacts all over the place and the video looks blurry. The nexus 7 is a 1280x800 device, so you should be streaming 720p video, but this looks like 480p at best.

Is there any way to confirm what video resolution I'm looking at?

Ashiun - Are you streaming via Wi Fi or 3G?

Baughn - 360 is the highest on Android atm.

I assure you it's not my internet connection speed. It's my Wifi and even my mobile network is LTE and runs at over 20mb down and 10mb up

Hmm...
Perhaps it has to do with how the device is decoding the video.

I just watched on my super old Samsung device and it looks fine.

I'll check with a coworker.

I have the same streaming problems as Ashiun. Galaxy S3 on WiFi (45Mb connection)
Another similar issue is that when the scene changes, the video stays pointing at the old scene, and you see the changes happening on the old scene until eventually another new scene is loaded and the screen refreshes.

Yay for flash on android though, if i really can't deal with the video quality, I usually browse to the site and watch it there. much nicer quality, colours all come out better too.

I have a galaxy S2 running ICS. I also have installed the latest app, but after viewing for a couple of days, none of the shows will load anymore. It stays at "loading" for ever. It won't start the show.

Also, I have a galaxy tab 7.7 running 2.3 (I think). I also have the recent app installed, but the problem with this device is that it won't stay on the home page long enough for me to make an action and it goes to an blank page. It's like after I opened the app, the home page with selections went to a blank page after 1 sec.

Can you fix that or tell me what I need to do to fix it?

One week going strong using CM10.... last time I flashed it there were many bugs... but I think I fixed the issues... I reported a while ago that I was experiencing playback issues with the CR app but I have got that fixed...I was sure that the newest apk release had problems but it was us.

Can you take a screenshot of this the next time it happens? The default method on the GS3 to capture a screenshot is holding the power button and the home screen button at the same time. Another method is by using the "motions" command, but if you have that setup already then you already know how to use it to take a screen shot.

What you are describing sounds to me like macroblocking problem. If I understand correctly, the video when watching it via the app will sometimes not update the entire frame until a completely new scene comes up? Only part of the frame will update? IE, if someone is standing still in a room, and moves their arm, only the area of the video with the arm movement will update and there will be artifacts and blocking present?

Macroblocking is a codec issue. Your device codecs are not properly decompressing the video file and creating these artifacts.
