you can use one of the many app cleaners/ task killers to help auto sync. every time you shut down an app completely and turn it back on (this is depending if your auto sync option is on) it will automatically sync and update the database... I think thats what Bjaker was explaining about. also look at the timing when the actual episode or show will be released too... because if you are trigger happy you might be an hour or 2 early from when it will actually be released

The Android app is not syncing to our database and updating the list of available Anime correctly.
The icons for the shows will be there, but it will not properly link to the episode.

Logging out and logging back in forces a refresh of the listed episodes.

Adding a refresh button in the UI (or on the menu) would be an easy way to fix this, at some point when you have an Android developer again.

I do some Android development, and this app is useful enough to me I almost want to apply for that job just so I can fix it. But as tempting as it is, I like my existing job too much to quit for it.

Here's a really crazy idea:

Post the code for the app on http://github.com/. I would imagine there are things like the DRM-related code that you wouldn't want public, so you remove that part, and set up a build option so that it'll build without it. The app will be useless for actually doing playback this way, but it would be useful for testing the rest of the app. All things considered, the video playback is probably a relatively small part of the app (a large chunk of the code but a small chunk of what the user sees), and then you can get help from the community fixing up other parts of the app (like viewing/editing your queue, browsing the site, etc) and your in-house developer only has to worry about the DRM/playback code and reviewing patches people submit.

I think my #1 wishlist item right now is getting full landscape mode support back on tablets. I hate having to look at my screen sideways to view my queue when the tablet is in a dock and fixed in landscape mode

Hello,

The Crunchyroll app is working fine with my iOS devices, Roku, PS3, and XBox, but on my Nexus 7 the video would occasionally freeze up, silhouettes would kind of move, all the while the sound would continue, then within 3-4 seconds or so the video portion would catch up and it would be fine for a while, and then the problem would occur again. In a 23 minute episode it typically happens 4-5 times. Are other android users experiencing this? I'm using the 0.7.9 version of the app.

Any advice would be appreciated, thanks.

It is too bad CR doesn't provide HD encodes for Android, as I imagine they would look rather sweet on the 1920 x 1280 (no typo; it is 1280, not 1080 or 1200) screen of the Nook HD+. Best Buy has it on sale for $200 for the 32GB version.

For those that don't know, B&N added access to the Google Play store, so the HD and HD+ now have access to all Android apps, including the CR app.

I'm working on a DPI bug fix for the nexus 7 as we speak. the bugfix will be released in XDA developers (this is not pertaining to the crunchyroll app at all but there are problems with the nexus 7)........ I don't see any problem with the crunchyroll app at all. at the moment though... although I am using the 7.7 version instead of the 7.9... Bjaker can send you an official APK of an earlier release if you are nice(suggested for your tablet would be 7.6 or 7.7 and DO NOT UPDATE IT). if the problem persists you might need to 1.clock your tablet to atleast 1.2 or higher and or 2. kill the other crap thats going on in the background. if problem still persists it might be what youre watching.

I just noticed that too a couple of nights ago. I use BS player which feeds any app streams through its player... this is for people who are having a pain in the A$$ time and want HD....need to get it through aptoid store

Hi,

The app works fine on my device, but the audio and video are slightly out of sync, which is very noticeable and makes most animes unwatchable. Is this a known problem ?

Cheers

Im having the same issue as bensonc120. Ive noted alot of people have complained in the thread but there aren't any practical solutions. It doesn't happen when I watch Bleach, but its driving me insane as I watch The World Only God Knows. Is there anyway I can fix this? Can i get the 0.7.7 apk if that will fix the matter?

Thanks.

P.s. I'm a Premium Member if that matters.

I am having the same problem. When I watch Glass Mask, the video seems to stutter and pixels are everywhere, and when the video catches up it seems the audio is out of sync. By the end of the videos, most times it will be at least a second if not 2 seconds off from the audio.

For encoding issues I believe we are going to be doing a push of new encodes on older content soon.
