I can see how people that have been watching Bleach fansubs from DB (myself included) would be very protective of it.

Whilst I am concerned about a potential drop in the quality of subs I'm also excited at the prospect of getting 720p video quality and being able to watch episodes very quickly after they come out.

I, for one, will be giving CR a chance. Let's see how this plays out when they release the first episodes next Tuesday before declaring the end of the world

It's going to be scaled from 480p to 720p FYI. I'm taking into account how people will say it'll be much better in 720p, but before you get all happy about that get this. Depending on your monitor size the human eye can't even tell the difference between 480/720p. If you're watching on something like a 50 inch LCD then that's different, but I'm going to assume a majority of viewers are watching with a standard monitor 20-30inch. You won't be able to tell the difference between 480/720.

You've probably got a point, though the difference between 480p and 720p on my 20" widescreen monitor (which typically runs at a resolution of 1680x1050) is really something. 720p looks pretty incredible compared to 480p.

I'm not sure how I feel about it yet. Like many I came here from dattebayo where I got my bleach fix. I had no complaints with them (except for their attitude at times), but I do want to support the anime and manga that I like, so maybe this will be a good thing.

Well I will just have to see after tomorrow.

Stupid CR, they ruined Bleach...if they released it to all premium users, like they did with Naruto Shippuuden...but NO, they releas it only in some countries. Well, i will have to download ripped video from CR. Nice!

Why do all you kids expect something for nothing?
When you move out on your own and start having to pay all your bills, buy food, pay rent, maybe you'll clue in.
The people behind BLEACH get nothing from DB. Yet when it gets streamed on CR they will. Way to support the people who created the anime/manga you *love*.

I'd like to see one of you write a book and then turn around and let it be illegally translated into other languages without you getting any profit. It's not being greedy, it's called working and getting paid.

Source? The fact that its broadcast in 480 scanline resolution does not mean its broadcast in that resolution. Nowadays, to support Blu-Ray, they will sometimes producer in higher resolution like 540 scanlines, and downscale it to 480 for Japanese Digital TV Standard Definition.
