When I took Japan and Modernity, my professor have mentioned that Japan's birthrate is about zero. I do not think China have 'not enough children', because this country would make half of the population in the world. Well most Y generation, they do not want to get marry/pregnant and most want to stay young forever.

Not much you can really do on this situation. This dilemma has been happening for years on & off with the birth & death rate fluctuating. As time will progress, maybe it'll get better.

Let's compare population densities:

Japan: 337.1/km²
China: 139.6/km²
Korea: 328.48/km²
N: 198.3/km²
S: 500/km²

Africa has only
30.51/km²

Australia:
2.833/km²

Canada:
3.41/km²

USA:
32/km²

I see three totally overpopulated countries and three countries and a whole continent that are pretty much empty.

A lot of the sparsely populated countries have harsh climates especially in certain areas. :/ There's a massive desert in the middle of Africa and Australia. There's also tundra in the north of Canada.

Though in response to OP I can think of two things that can help the young support the old.
1. Import young workers
or
2. Raise the retirement age

So yeah, i don't have all that much.

lol @ retirement age. Importing young workers is a reasonable counter attack against this problem.

this is a big issue all over. the europeans are having a huge drop in birthrate also. i think there won't be a huge issue with the declining population as long as the world stays stable. if a big war were to happen well.. you can imagine what that would do to the adult-male population. i fear what will happen when there are more leeches than taxpayers in a nation...

Maybe because of the economy, women who work can't take care of kids anymore, and get more jobs? That could be why I spose.

This is a lie.
China is overpopulated so that's why they made a rule One child or Two children.
Other asian countries are more populated than america, so they have limited of birth rate.

Some women can not produce babies, even with sperms.

Tell people in India and Africa to stop populating like crazy and maybe the world population would balance for once. Seriously if you have more than 4 kids you are overpopulating the world. I would support 2 children max. If you had one child and then you had triplets or something that is not possible to avoid it would be allowed though. Every time I see the poor advertisements for India and Africa I am angry that their parents were too stupid to not know when to stop. I do feel sorry for the children though. I think China is in good shape though. Japan and Korea are only behind because women are in the workforce now instead of just housewives.

Well China never really had a choice, they couldn't support the country at the rate that it was growing before and it was inevitable that this would happen. Eventually though, I foresee that it smooth out, eventually the Chinese baby-boomer generation will die, and though China will always be a big country, it will definitely be much smaller compared to now. Japan, if you do the research there's just a generation of people not really caring about having kids

With any society it will flux and wane but ultimately there is nothing to worry about there. They'll watch how America does it and start having 8+ children per household. xP
