Oh wow, I finally understood after reading the comments. I thought that creature was a mutation of both a bird and a spider

I don't want to go to Australia precisely because of the huge and freaky spiders they have there.

I know there's bird-eating spiders out there, but that's smaller than what I imagined for that situation.

Australia has some of the worlds deadiest spiders around, but i dont think you'll come across a spider if you were going to Australia for a holiday or something

btw look at this photo! its so disgusting!

I was at Australia and was visiting my cousin. About a 2 weeks ago and stumbled across one of these. This was probably the scariest thing i ever saw in my life and still can't believe its real, tell me what you think about the picture. I highly recommend not to go to this link if you don't like bugs.

WTF!
I go to that link and it say page not found

bird eating spider! Pretty cool little creatures. They're not harmful to humans though...unless you provoke it first. Why they exist you ask? Well! This is my area of expertise! I can't give you an exact answer, but basically what someone said before... Survival of the fittest. But also, every predator must have a hunter; it's the way of life. The ecology of the world. One thing affects the other. Who knows, the bird species this spider preys on may feed on one sort of prey causing that prey to reach extinction - worst case scenario. If that happens than the natural balance between the animals and environment would shift, causing a chain reaction of different bad - and good - events. When this happens, evolution can occur in animals and environments that we may expect, etc. So yea...there you have it. Even the existence of the ugliest creatures has its purposes.

Your right LemonyPanda. They do have a right, because if they didn't exist then we wouldn't have the world as we know it today.

Did you know that Camel spiders aren't actually considered spiders even though they're an arachnid. They can't make webs and don't produce poisonous venom. They do however have anaesthetic venom...but you know...that isn't harmful at all. I'd actually like to see one of these even though i dislike big scary-looking creatures LOL

Certain spiders could prove to be quite usefull.

Aside from causing intense pain, the venom of the spider can also cause priapism in humans. Erections resulting from the bite are uncomfortable, can last for many hours and can lead to impotence. A component of the venom (Tx2-6) is being studied for use in erectile dysfunction treatments.

Oh, sorry! I have a NoScript installed and somehow the commenting-field at the bottom of the page didn't show up, so I quoted your comment but deleted what you wrote.

I didn't think you'd get a notification.
